to help us through that. We’re about to work with a very good chef in Devonport who is going to help bring up our menu, we are reinvesting in all new kitchen equipment, so we’ve got a whole new space ready to go. We still want to follow that bowling alley theme and have your burgers and fries, but we want to take it up a notch as well so it’s not your typical bowling alley food. We want it to be varied and for it to stand on its own.” Kerryn says there is a simple reason the couple continue to invest to provide a fun, family friendly environment. “We didn’t realise just how much the bowling alley meant to the community until after we took over. The community just got behind us completely and went ‘yes, this is what we want, this is what we need’. We kind of knew that, but I don’t think we understood just how much it was needed or how much it was wanted. We knew that there was going to have to be significant changes to really get it to where we wanted it but we’re really proud and excited that we can be part of the bowling alley’s journey into the next generation. “We went there as kids, my mum was a league bowler, I used to spend time at crèche there before I started school when my mum bowled. You talk to so many people and they talk about what the place meant to them when they were younger… it’s just such a central part, an integral part of the northwest coast.”
