Tourism Tasmania
kipli with a delicious canape-style menu curated by Kitana Mansell & Jo Amanatidis. In addition to our showcase, we also worked with tourism operators across the state to deliver on-the-ground experiences to ensure international partners got a first-hand taste of our world-class tourism offerings. With international travellers accounting for roughly 15% of visitors to Tasmania, it’s important for Tassie to standout at events like ATE. The latest visitor data for Tasmania shows that international visitation is sitting at 76% of 2019 levels, with our top performing marketing being USA, UK, New Zealand, Hong Kong, Singapore, China and Germany.
Valley was recently celebrated on an international stage at the 2024 World Agritourism Awards in Italy. We are seeing a growing consumer trend towards agritourism, with travellers seeking authentic experiences where they can connect with producers and learn about the heritage of local products and artisan practices. As locals, we’ve always known how lucky we are to have access to incredible produce - and no one knows this better than those working in hospitality. It’s exciting to see that the world is certainly noticing too. Finally, I just wanted to say it’s an honour and privilege to lead the Tourism Tasmania team and I look forward to hopefully meeting many of you while travelling around the state over the coming months.
