paraprofessional capacity and which are used only in connection with treatment of the student and disclosed only to individuals providing the treatment. • Records created or received after an individual is no longer enrolled as a student at the College and that are not directly related to that individual’s attendance as a student. • Grades on peer-graded papers before they are collected and recorded by a teacher. “School official” includes a person employed by the College in an administrative, supervisory, academic, research or support staff position (including law enforcement and security personnel); a person serving on the Board of Trustees; or a student serving on an official committee, such as a disciplinary or conduct hearing board. A school official also may include a volunteer or contractor who performs an institutional service or function on behalf of the College and who is under the direct control of the College with respect to the use and maintenance of PII from education records, such as an attorney, auditor or collection agent or a student volunteering to assist another school official in performing his or her tasks. A NNUAL N OTICE OF FERPA R IGHTS The College will provide annual notice to students of their rights under FERPA by including such information in its Student Handbook. This information will also be continuously posted on the College’s website, along with copies of this Regulation and Board Policy III.09. R IGHT TO F ILE A C OMPLAINT A student who believes that the College has failed to comply with the requirements of FERPA has the right to file a complaint with the U.S. Department of Education.
