Robyn Smith - President/Publisher: rsmith@nvpublications.com Len Prazych - Vice President Of the 18 manufacturing industries, 16 reported growth in November, among them: Textile Mills; Wood Products; Electrical Equipment, Appliances & Components; Chemi- cal Products; Machinery; Computer & Electronic Products; Paper Products; Miscellaneous Manufacturing; Transporta- tion Equipment; Furniture & Related Products; and Food, Beverage & Tobacco Products. The two industries report- ing contraction in November are Printing & Related Sup- port Activities; and Petroleum & Coal Products. October, as indicated by minimal gains in inventory lev- els and a softening of imports. Input improvement stalled compared to October and contributed marginally to the Manufacturing PMI® calculation. (The Supplier Deliveries and Inventories indexes directly factor into the Manufac- turing PMI®; the Imports Index does not.) Prices continued to expand at higher rates, reflecting a clear shift to seller pricing power. “Among the six biggest manufacturing industries, five (Fabricated Metal Products; Chemical Products; Comput- er & Electronic Products; Transportation Equipment; and Food, Beverage & Tobacco Products) registered solid growth in November. “Manufacturing performed well for the sixth straight month, with demand, consumption and inputs register- ing growth, but at slower rates compared to October. La- bor market difficulties, both current and anticipated, at panelists’ companies and their suppliers will continue to dampen the manufacturing economy until the coronavirus (COVID-19) crisis ends,” says Fiore.
