and there is no bridge; how do you sup pose they are going to get across? Eli jah takes his mantle, wrapped dt i to gether, and struck the waters with it, and the waters parted, and they two went over on dry ground. It was God who parted the waters for Elijah and Elisha. After they had crossed the river, Elijah asked his friend Elisha what h.e could do for him before he was taken away, and Elisha asked that he might have more oi God’s spirit in his heart, as Elijah had. Elijah said he had asked a hard thing; yet Elijah told Elisha if he saw him as he went away, he should have what he had asked for. These two dear friends walked on and talked together, and suddenly there ap peared a wonderful chariot and horses that took Elijah away. It was the most beautiful chariot of fire, with horses of Are. It did not travel along on the ground, but went up in the air to heaven, and Elisha saw him go and got what he had asked for, more of God’s spirit, and became a wonderful prophet of God also. After that Elisha saw Eli jah no more, but he picked up the man tle of Elijah that fell from the chariot as it went up into heaven. Wasn’t that a wonderful trip for Elijah, and to go to heaven without dying. All who lové Jesus and serve Him, will go to heaven, where Jesus is preparing a place, and our memory verse tells us this beauti ful truth, “ I go to prepare a place for you.” Are we ready to go if Jesus should call us today? Picture the home going of those living when Jesus comes. Closing Prayer.— Dear Lord Jesus, help us to live so that we may have more of God’s spirit, and be ready to go whenever Jesus calls. BLACKBOARD SKETCHES. By Em Hansell. Elijah taken up into Heaven. II Kings 2:5-11. This lesson deals for the most pari with God’s rewards to His faithful ser-

chariot of fire. It might be good to re view a little showing how Elijah was faithful, and bringing in the Golden text. Rev. 2:10. SPURGEON’S FINAL TESTIMONY Among the last recorded utterances of the great preacher, Charles Haddon Spurgeon, is the following: “ I find that the most spiritual men in every place are ‘looking for’ as well as hastening unto the coming of our Lord and Saviour. I marvel that the belief is not universal for it is so per fectly Scriptural.” CRUCIFIED SAINTS The self-crucified saint can say to carnality: “ You are the same as dead. I have another husband. Deal with him. He is bigger and stronger than you."
