PROGRAM OVERVIEW At UCP of the North Bay, our Day Programs are designed to provide individuals with disabilities the opportunity to develop skills, engage in meaningful work, and increase their independence. Each of our locations offers a variety of programs aimed at skill-building, community integration, and vocational training. Below are highlights of our services:
Adventure Trips: Adventure Trips organize outdoor excursions like kayaking, rafting, and skiing for individuals with disabilities. These trips promote self-esteem, teamwork, and integration into the broader community. BOOST Conductive Education Program: BOOST School provides an individualized, movement- based academic program for children and young adults with orthopedic impairments like Cerebral Palsy. In school, after-school and intensive therapy settings, we focus on improving mobility, coordination, and physical independence through tailored, goal-oriented activities that address each child’s unique needs. Camp Arroyo: Camp Arroyo is an inclusive retreat offering outdoor recreational activities such as hiking, team-building, and crafts. It provides a supportive environment where participants can build social connections and confidence. Community Events: UCPNB’s events, such as the Wine Country Carnival and Grapes of Gratitude, foster community involvement and support for its programs. They serve as vital fundraising and awareness-building opportunities to further UCPNB’s mission. Cypress School: Cypress School offers specialized education for students with disabilities, focusing on individualized instruction and skill development. Its programs incorporate technology to enhance learning outcomes and prepare students for greater independence. Flipside Thrift: Flipside Thrift operates retail stores that provide jobs in customer service, inventory management, and merchandising, as well as e-commerce opportunities. Participants gain skills in online sales, order fulfillment, and production processing of all donated materials. This program helps foster self-sufficiency and teamwork, while also enhancing social and communication skills in a retail environment. Gone For Good: The Gone for Good program processes thrift donations, creating meaningful employment opportunities for adults with disabilities. Participants gain hands-on experience in secure document shredding and other related fields. In addition to vocational training, the program offers job placement assistance and encourages independence through job skills development. Participants learn sorting, processing donations, and managing secure shredding services, preparing for long-term employment opportunities.
