AL to pay final respect and tribute to the 26 th
Grand Polemarch of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. Dr. Ullysses McBride who entered the Chapter Invis- ible on September 5, 2025. Grand Polemarch McBride possessed an extensive record of leadership in Kappa Alpha Psi® including leading the Fraternity as Grand Polemarch from 1988-1991. Generations of Kappa leaders, including his successors as Grand Polemarch, benefitted from McBride’s soft-spoken counsel and mentorship. Professionally, Dr. McBride enjoyed a distinguished
career as an educator and educational administrator, primarily based in Ala- bama, that spanned nearly 40 years. The Atmore (AL) Chapter and the Southern Province served as hosts for the out-of-town brothers attending the homegoing observance and celebration.
The Escambia County High School, where McBride taught early in his career, was the venue for the obser- vance and celebration. At the service, Grand Polemarch McMikle, speaking on behalf of Kappa Alpha Psi, to the McBride family and attendees graciously recounted his
reflections of the late Grand Polemarch and the importance McBride’s counsel had on his lead- ership journey in Kappa. Grand Polemarch McMikle concisely expressed to the audience what McBride meant to the Fraternity, “Grand Polemarch McBride was more than just an icon
