Milan H. Richards 1999-2022 Student, U.S. Army
M ilan H. Richards entered the Chap- ter Invisible on November 11, 2022 at age 23. Milan Hajah Richards was born on May 9, 1999 to Milton Richards & Dr. C.J. Jacobs. He graduated in 2017 from Union Grove (OH) High School where he was a member of the Choir, athletic teams, and Debate team. He was a pianist & violinist who was a member of an orchestra since elementary school. In addition to being a vio- linist, Richards’ interests and achievements were an electrophile or avid
reader, community leader, National Honor Society member, Head Start Program participant, and mentor. At the time of his passing, Richards was scheduled to earn, in May 2023, a B.S. degree in pre-med biology with a focus on sports medicine from Akron University. As a student, Richards earned a place on the Dean’s List. While in college, Richards joined the Fraternity as a 2021 initiate of the Akron University Chapter, the Xi Xi of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity where he
served the chapter as vice polemarch. Richards also was an US Army Sergeant in the Ohio National Guard. In 2019, he graduated from Fort Benning in Columbus, GA. As an ROTC Cadet, Rich- ards trained as an officer under the 1st of 145 Amour Platoon with Charlie and Alpha companies. He received the Military Occu- pational Specialty (MOS) of Infantry award. Other honors included Kent State Army ROTC and US Army Award for Excellence. On October 1, 2022, the ROTC Director of Military
Services Center recognized Richards for remaining a full-time College student while during COVID-19 and successfully complet- ing ROTC. Brother Milan H. Richard is survived by his parents, twin brothers–Mikyle and Mihad Richards & brother–Darnell Pearson (Xi Xi 2020), Xi Chapter member) sisters–Alexis and Mikayla, grandparents–Dr. Carol Rias & B. Richards, nephew Kingston and a host of relatives, friends, and the brothers of the Xi Xi Chapter. ♦
