Cost of key Drysdale courses reduced

Drysdale has reduced the cost of several of its popular courses to help make them more accessible to the hospitality industry. Drysdale Interim CEO, Lisa Punshon, said 2019 commercial course fees for Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) and Responsible Conduct of Gaming (RCG) had been significantly reduced in 2019. “We know that these courses are considered essential by hospitality employers of licensed venues who are hiring new candidates, as well as for existing hospitality staff to maintain currency,” Ms Punshon said. “Drysdale worked closely with the Tasmanian Hospitality Association (THA) to determine industry expectations around these courses. We believe that the reduced cost of course fees for both RSA and RCG will be more attractive to employers with existing staff as well as people looking to enter the tourism and hospitality industry. “As part of our commitment to being more responsive to industry, we have worked to ensure that Drysdale’s training is delivered by people with the right industry training under a flexible model that suits current hospitality workers. “Courses are being offered both during the day and after hours in Hobart, Launceston and Devonport to ensure they are accessible to more people.” Ms Punshon said pricing for 'Barista Basics' courses has been kept at 2018 levels to make them as accessible to as many people as possible. “These changes will help support the training needs of tourism and hospitality workers and address skills shortages in the industry,” Ms Punshon said.
