The Street Rod Nationals South is Back! T he 51st Street Rod Nationals South is back, now in Johnson City, Tennessee, and will be better than ever! The new location gives NSRA the opportunity to offer additional activities. Highlights being worked on at this time include a Ladies Tea, Quilt Display and Contest, Pinstriping Charity Jam, a Kick-off Dinner, a Shop Tour, trail- er parking, a Church Service on Saturday, the Rod Repair Shop, food trucks, Spotlight Builder, live music and, of course, Commercial ven- dors, Women’s World and the Swap Meet. Keep checking for more details in StreetScene and on the NSRA Facebook page. Host Hotel The Holiday Inn at 101 W. Springbrook Dr. in Johnson City will be the Host Hotel for the Nationals South. Please use the link in the Accommodation Guide to book your room or call the hotel at 423- 282-4611. When calling the Holiday Inn make sure to ask for the NSRA rate. The hotel is pet friendly, has an on-site restaurant and bar and plenty of parking. The Fairgrounds The Appalachian Fairgrounds is really located in Gray, Tennessee, at 100 Lakeview St. to be exact. This is a short 12-minute drive from the Host Hotel. The fairgrounds is set on 80-plus acres which includes an exhibit hall, four commercial buildings, barns, two out- door stages and plenty of street rod and spectator parking. Follow the signs once you get off the interstate. What to Do in Johnson City Johnson City has plenty to offer visitors, some examples include over 125 locally owned restaurants, four historical sites, four local parks with hiking and walking trails. The City Garage Car Museum in Greeneville, Tennessee, is just a short drive away. For the ladies, Johnson City offers a mall, 25 shops downtown and two other shopping plazas.
