impressed. This Starliner is no trailer queen with rock chips covering the chassis from front to back, grease and grime just where you’d expect, and my admiration. Mick started with a pile of rust and trim parts with a plan to build a ProTouring Ford that could really rack up the miles. He has owned a series of truly cool Starliners over the years, but this time he wanted a Pro Touring rig, so his first call was to Art Morrison to have them build a chassis for the ’61. The front sus- pension features tubular control arms, adjustable coilovers, a big anti-roll bar, rack and pinion steer- ing, and Wilwood brakes. The rear suspension con-
sists of a Ford 9-inch fit with coilovers and held in place with a tri-angulated four-bar and Wilwood discs actuated by a Hydroboosted Wilwood master cylinder. Mick slipped a 5.0 Coyote in between the rails that runs stock EFI, 32-valve heads, and head- ers feeding a 3-inch exhaust. The powertrain is fin- ished off with a 4R70W four-speed automatic spin- ning 18/19-inch Billet Specialties hoops wearing Michelin Pilot Sport rubber (255/25/18 and 335/35/19). Mick has been in love with the Galaxie’s styling since before he had a driver’s license, so the exterior is surprisingly stock aside from the FEBRUARY 2026 63
