CORBEN CUTCHER One of the things we’ve noticed covering 29 Below for 25 years is more grandparents help kids get cars than parents. It makes sense from a teenager’s point of view, parents are lame, but grandparents are the coolest! Corben Cutcher out of Fair Oaks Ranch, Texas, got his ’33 Chevy Screaming Eagle from his grandfather who made the car into a family heirloom. The little Chevy coupe features a Corvette 327 backed up by a 700R4 four-speed automatic, BFG wrapped chrome steelies with baby moons, BFG rubber, and a tubular Mustang II based IFS. Sean Sena did the bodywork and laid down the maroon and plum paint while Bearnut Upholstery stitched the air-conditioned interior with power everything. After finding a mint eagle hood ornament, the rod looks like it’s ready to cruise all over the country.
STEVEN JONES Steven Jones out of Pueblo, Colorado, comes from a rodding family and his uncle Ray gave him his ’71 Chevrolet C20 custom pickup. The old hauler is an in-progress project, but it still has plenty of cool. The engine is a 350ci small-block Chevy with double bump heads, an Edelbrock cam and carburetor, and a Turbo 350 automatic. Steven is working on getting the body straight and his buddy AJ Vijil sprayed the primer. Other than getting everything working right, the interior and chassis are still in original form. We dig that Steven acknowledges this build is a group effort and he gave thanks to everyone including uncle Ray, uncle David, friends AJ, Andrew, Rueben, Gabe and his girlfriend Mari-Jayne.
MARI-JAYNE BEEBY Mari-Jayne Beeby is also out of Pueblo, Colorado, bought her Chevy S10 pickup last year and has been making it nicer by the day. She added Camaro Rally steelies wearing Victorun rubber, a new grille, new bumpers front and rear, a custom steering wheel, and a pink Chevy BowTie for the grille. The S10 still has the V-6 powerplant backed up by a five-speed manual and an original blue bucket-seat interior. The bodywork is slowly getting worked out and we can’t wait to see the little pickup all done up in Pueblo. You two keep having “Fun With Cars” NSRA style.
