Fellow Cattlemen, Record high cattle prices, record low cattle numbers, record high beef consumption, recalls the old adage that records are made to be broken. I’m sure some of us have stopped in at our favorite Steak House and have had to wait in line to get a seat. The quality of beef being served is better than it was 5-7 years ago, and there are more people eating the product we produce. We have always strived to produce the beef that consumers come back to, time and time again. It is studying pedigrees and taking into consideration what would make that cow’s progeny better. Asking the question, what bull would help those weaknesses and what genetics would strengthen the cow’s strengths? It is a stacking of genetics to help reach that end goal of developing the quality beef that brings the consumer back for a repeat eating experience. With proper and meticulous record keeping, we are developing that product in the generational progeny of our cow herd that produces bulls that carry that genetic profile in each of the bulls offered in this sale offering. Don’t be deceived that a carcass bull is an ugly bull. Denton proved that an animal can be both eye appealing and produce quality beef at the same time with his heifer in the Phenotype Genotype Show at the National Junior Angus Show and Cattlemen’s Congress. But don’t take our word for it, come out and judge for yourselves the bulls that we are offering in our sale on the first Saturday in March. You may not take them to a PGS show but you can sure produce beef that consumers desire. While you are at it, visit with us, ask questions and enjoy a quality beef dinner that brings us each to the table. See you Saturday, March 7th! Bulls are certified virgin or will be certified Trichomoniasis Free and have passed a Breeding Soundness Evaluation. Bulls are freeze branded for permanent identification.
