Jillian Van Every happy with finish

Van Every hoped to set a new personal best for herself in triple jump, beating her current record of 10.6 metres. But the wea- ther in Belleville during OFSAA featured a strong cross-wind that hampered Van Every and other athletes on the field. Her best jump at the provincials was 10.49 metres, putting her in 12th place in the overall results. “It was fun,” Van Every said, regarding her OFSAA experience.

On a hot Saturday afternoon, kids spent a couple of fun hours at the Coco Lemay Ball Field, for a June 10 weekend preliminary tryouts session for the Prescott-Russell Rangers Minor 8 ball team, for eight- to ten-year-old children. This year’s minor ball season will be a bit more hectic as last month’s steady rains have prevented most of the regular game schedule from taking place.
