In 2015, I founded Dukes Education. The be- ginning of the Dukes story is simple. I wanted to do something I love, and I love developing young people. I’ve been inspired by many individuals through- out my involvement in finance, the military and sport. Growing up with dyslexia meant I had to find my own way to succeed – but the encour - agement and support of my family and school was crucial. I wanted to give others the chance to be successful against the odds and in the face of obstacles. On every publication, email or letter from Dukes Education, you will see a small crown next to our name. When Dukes began, we de- cided to use a sign that expressed everything we wanted the company to be. The Dukes crown symbolises our ambition to be at the absolute top of the education sector – a mark of recognised quality. It also symbolises the ambition of our students and parents. They come to us for schooling, guidance and exper- tise because, in their own way, they want to build a ‘crown’ of achievement themselves. Our mission is to be the best at helping them to do this. Everything we do at Dukes is driven by a strong desire to nurture young people so they can achieve their true potential. I am so excited for our future. We are in a priv- ileged position: we have a unique opportunity to create dreams and inspire excellence in our students. ABOUT THE LYCEUM SCHOOL
Our co-educational school is an oasis of calm in the heart of London where we nurture our children with time, exper- tise and care. The children’s happiness and joy in learning is most important to us. Through a broad curriculum offering, coupled with our highly skilled and enthusiastic staff team, we will discover the unique genius that is with- in each child. This will enable them to develop into young people who are truly self con- fident and who will make a positive contribution to the world. We are housed in a beautiful 5-storey building, with adjoining playground, specialist art, science and
yoga classroom, library and a canteen. We provide an exciting and challenging curriculum so our pupils gain a love of learning, a thirst for knowledge and an appreciation of the arts. Based in the heart of Shored- itch and a stone’s throw from Old Street and Liverpool Street stations, we have a wealth of resources right on our doorstep that we regular- ly take advantage of. Be it les- sons in local museums, tours of the Royal Parks or trips to London’s theatres – we aim to afford all of our students the very best experiences and hands-on education.
