They will contribute to the success of NHI,” she says with pride. “A strong workforce can serve the nation.” When Khan is not teaching she continues to contribute extensively to academia by developing faculty and institutional policies, guidelines and tools, publishing peer-reviewed articles and book chapters, participating in conferences, and supervising masters and doctoral students. She has served as an external moderator for virology for the Biomedical Technology Board and was a member of the Research and Innovation Committee for the Development of the Fifth National Development Plan for Namibia. She currently serves on the Premier of Gauteng’s Advisory Committee for Covid-19. Her message to students is, “Cultivate mutual respect. Value your seat at the university. Work hard but be guided by ethics and your own moral compass. Maintain a balanced life and above all choose your friends wisely, be friends with people you admire and who truly want you to succeed”.
