FOR NEARLY TWO DECADES, THE UNIVERSITY OF JOHANNESBURG HAS BEEN RENOWNED FOR BEING AN INTERNATIONAL INSTITUTION OF CHOICE, IN DYNAMICALLY SHAPING THE FUTURE BY PROVIDING WORLD- CLASS ACADEMIC PROGRAMMES THAT HAVE GONE ON TO PRODUCE SOME OF THE COUNTRY’S BRIGHTEST STARS. Equally so, for nearly two decades, the Mail &Guardian has featured 200 Young South Africans under 35 on their journey to positively impacting the world through, “future- focused innovation and passion, leaving an indelible mark for the generations to come”. We are proud that in that ever-dynamic mix of trail-blazing young individuals, doing exemplary work in creating an inclusive, equal, and sustainable future for SA, scores of our very own alumni have formed a consistent part of this eminent list. As stated in this year’s instalment, “receiving a mention as part of any cohort is not just an award to be celebrated like any other. It is a lifetime honour of distinction, given only to those remarkable individuals who stand out and have grown into industry leaders and pioneers in their specific fields.” In this article, we celebrate our deserving alumni who made it onto this prestigious list in 2019, 2020, 2021 and this year. They continue to fly high in their respective fields and most importantly, make our great nation even better through their dedicated and inspiring work. To them we say, “Ntinga, ntaka ndini!” (Fly high you amazing bird) Information was collected from the Mail & Guardian website.
