ANNUAL BULL SALE
FEBRUARY 24 , 2026 1PM • KIST LIVESTOCK • MANDAN, ND
Welcome back for a very special edition of the L83 Annual Production Sale. Our 50 th Annual Production Sale! A milestone that could not have been accomplished without many things. The determination of a cowboy who had a vision; the resilience to strive to make each day successful; the toughness to battle some of the most absurd weather events; a family that continues to maintain a progressive mindset; and the friends and customers that trust in us. To start the second half of a century of production sales, we have made the tough, but exciting decision to change the sale date. This year, and the years that proceed us, the L83 Ranch Annual Production sale will continue to be held on the Fourth Tuesday in February. We are bringing you this set of bulls with confidence. We have assembled the most solid set of bulls that has ever hit the ground in Westhope. Some new genetics, the second year of Black Angus and Simmental, some low in quantity, but none low in quality folks. You don’t have to worry about sifting and ranking through quality when you look at these bulls. The low usage of ET technology in our program brings you bulls that were raised by their genetic dam. Our cows need to earn their keep, and they do. We develop our bulls on a high roughage and low energy diet to ensure proper skeletal development and maintain quality foot structure. Another year of BIG news in the families that comprise L83. The newlyweds, Ben and Lacey Lodoen, are having a baby!! They are ever excited to introduce the next Lodoen to this world in April. Wyatt has locked in his Bride-To-Be! Wyatt and Izzy will be getting married in the fall of 2026 and we cannot WAIT to add Izzy to this family!! Also adding to the family, was Molly and Chandler with the birth of their beautiful baby girl, Scout Rose Meiers. The Marthaler’s continue to fire up the good vibes and laughs around the Ranch. The Westby’s grace us with their bubbly, beautiful, and smart daughter Ajla with frequent visits to Westhope. As the family continues to grow, so does our passion for this industry. We are extremely grateful for what has been put forth for us to print our 50 th Production Sale catalog. Our team pushes forward to continue the dedication and devotion towards our customers, the Ag. Industry as a whole, and our families. Thank you all for taking the time to evaluate our offering, and like always, do not be hesitant to call or show up at the Ranch to look at the bulls. -The Brand You Can Trust- Welcome to the Sale!
Generational family ranches are the pride of the industry. These family operations have endured many challenges over the years, and those managed well flourish, especially in times such as these. The L83 is recognized throughout North Dakota and the surrounding Canadian neighbors as a brand of loyalty, integrity, and stewardship. Stewardship of the tillable acres and the grassland that supports the passion within the barbed wire fences of the Lodoen Family operation. Ben and Lacey represent the youngest generation of the family operation and trust us when we say it’s in very good hands. The Newlyweds will continue the trails blazed before them with the great intention of improving and increasing the assets that make the operation successful in the right ways at the right time. These cattle that grace the pages of this sale book represent sweat and fiscal equity, dedication, and unwavering perseverance in breeding and developing a product that is not only suitable for profitable production for them but also for their loyal customer base. These Red Angus cattle are the kind with just a little more! A little more profit potential, a little more growth, a little more gain, a little more maternal instinct, with a whole lot more customer service. Ben’s passion and dedication to continuing to produce Red Angus cattle that encompass the broad scope of the industry are relentless. The research, time, and acquisition investment are evident year over year in weights, measurements, and overall quality. We think many will share our opinion on the New Sale Date, February 24, the fourth Tuesday of February. The bulls will be suited up and ready for turnout. They are very robust in design, with plenty of shape, depth, density, and substance of skeleton. They will have the genetic tools and data to support efficient but substantial growth, with added carcass traits and sensible calving merit. Never in our lifetime have live calves been more valuable than they are today, and these Red Angus studs are prepared to deliver on all levels. Industry-wide, the influence of these red- hided cattle is recognized from coast to coast and border to border, as they are the true commercial man’s kind. Ben has done a masterful job of mating and developing these bulls, and we know that you will recognize that they fit the mold for the prototype herd bull, whether seedstock or commercial. If you have never attended an L83 Ranch Bull Sale, we strongly encourage you to do so. If you have been before, we invite you back for the food and hospitality from the great folks at Kist Livestock. Ben is available for any and all sale-related matters and is your best contact for more information about this offering of Red Angus herd sire prospects. However, if you need assistance with selection or sight- unseen purchasing, please reach out to any member of the Innovation Ag Marketing team as well. When people invest or do business with the great people in the industry, good things happen for all involved, and this is one of the GREAT places with GREAT people that will bring
peace of mind about who you spend your money with. Thank you for your interest. Please enjoy the cattle.. Tim Anderson, Graham Blagg & Jered Shipman

50 Years! The very beginning of the L83 Ranch goes back to 1951 when a young cattle enthusiast found himself buying his very first 4H steer. Leonard Lodoen never would have expected what the future had in store for him and his family after this first venture. Leonard, along with brother Myron, began Lodoen Hereford Farms where they had been known across the USA and Canada. In 1994, Lodoen Hereford Farms began the transition into Lodoen Cattle Company when they purchased our first Red Angus cows from Charlie and Linda Lewis of Rock Creek Red Angus in Joliet, Montana. This crazy choice, made by a reputable horned Hereford breeder, was fol- lowed through by using his intelligence to learn the pedigrees, persistence to understand EPDs, and ambition to thrive in the Red Angus breed. During these next years, Lodoen Cattle Company has grown and expanded into what is now L83 Ranch. OUR PROGRAM L83 Ranch consists of Red Angus, Hereford, Black Angus and Simmental cows. We use these cows to build up our own herd, host a fall female sale in October, and raise bulls for the Annual Production Sale which is held on the FOURTH Tuesday of February at Kist Livestock in Mandan, ND. We strive to maintain a healthy, highly presentable, and docile cow herd. We have a fair amount of Canadian genetic influence in our herd, which has pleased us. The combination of the American and Canadian genetics was a choice we made in order to keep our gene pool diverse, and also, to take advantage of the traits that all of the genetics and pedigrees bring forth. OUR GOAL Within the growing families comprising L83 Ranch, we all maintain the same goal. That goal is to improve the agricultural industry as a whole. Our wholehearted effort is put into everything that we do. In order to improve an entire industry, it begins with the commercial cattle producers. While providing a supportive and positive lifestyle, we push to listen to our customers and make decisions to fit their needs. OUR HISTORY

This good-looking stud is sired by a Weber Land & Cattle produced son of kingpin, LSF SRR Takeover 5051C, better known as “Beartooth”, and backed by the ever-relevant “Marta” cow family. • You can’t find a more proven and sought after script when it comes to producing red hided cattle that are right in their build and body with added look, and most importantly, they work effectively when put into production. We suggest tying in here for long term success!

• From his very modest 74lbs. actual birthweight, to his impressive 761lbs. weaning weight we think this guy will be the source of a very advantageous growth curve in his progeny! • He is very balanced from both a phenotype and numeric standpoint, and we think he is a complete and logical option for a cattleman or woman that needs a herd bull that will sire both feeder cattle and replacements with added value, but is also one that has the build of longevity to be a long-term investment towards bettering the cowherd. • There are big things in store for the dam of Lot 16, she is a maternal sister to the

• L83 Beartooth 43N stands at the front of the class when it comes to sorting the offering for the dollar indexes! These indexes are built by combining certain pertaining traits, at differing weightings to build a scale for producers to recognize the value that these cattle offer in different situations, HerdBuilder focuses on maternal traits, Grid Master relates to carcass traits and ProS is an all-purpose index that is built around profitability and sustainability. • He comes with top quarter of the breed BW figures, along with top 7% DMI, top 20% Milk and Stay, and top 12% Marbling. We think he offers lots of value to programs that are looking to produce the lower input, high
output kind that need lower maintenance and upkeep to still provide the goods. • We purchased his dam from RJ Cattle and the Bergh family of South Dakota because she was an outlier phenotypically and genomically. We think there is a bright future ahead for this female. *CALVING EASE OPTION*

There has never been a more important time to invest in growth genetics with the current and fore casted market that we are seeing for the beef industry. • With his monster 842lbs. • Here is an exciting son of the trending, BYU Red Baron 1333 ET stud that just recently sired the Grand Champion Red Angus Female and 5 th Overall Supreme Champion at the 2026 Cattleman’s Congress. BYU Red Baron 1333 ET is the $62,000-valued Red Angus stud that was raised in the Bayou Creek Ranch breeding program and has been locked down semen wise, except for a handful of packages that were sold the week after he was purchased by Nixon Family Farms of which we invested in. That was until a limited release was made at Embryos on Snow this past January when it commanded over $600 a unit for the sexed semen. • These BYU Red Baron 1333 ET cattle are powerhouses and come with an added degree of ruggedness and stoutness, they truly have all the extra shape and power that you could ever want. • Maternally he stems back to the origins of the Red Angus program at L83 in the Lambrecht Pauline cow family that started everything you see here. Built upon the pillars of longevity, toughness and productivity, this cow family stands tall among the most powerful to work in Westhope.

• Here is a duo of full brothers that seriously turn up the heat! There is no question about the fact that KJHT Power Take Off took our program to another level, as he has been one of the most potent power injectors we have ever utilized in program history! This pair follow suite to the type that made him such a popular champion, coming with all the extra shape and power you could ask for. • Their dam, TC BW Kayleigh 134H is proving to be a very valuable addition to the cow herd as she has already produced the L83 Kist 5K bull that was purchased in the 2023 bull sale by Shannon Dieterle. Another generation back you will find the iconic SLGN Regulator 503R daughter, MEADO-WEST 209Z who is the old school cool kind that has been a stronghold for Brent Wirth and the TC firm. • We think there is only good days ahead here, these bulls will be the kind that you keep for a long time to come, and your kids are glad they have a cowherd built around their influence.

This extra hefty herd bull prospect has never let his foot off the gas from day one, and has matured into the impressive brute that we had aspirations for! • Coming with all the extras in regards to bone, foot, stoutness and power, this purebred prospect is the kind that will change a set of cows in the first generation, and supply all the extras necessary to find the premium price tags come weaning time. • He stems back to the very productive RUBL BRUL Blackcap cow family that has put their program on the map, and was the source of their $165,000 high selling female this past fall that RJ and Plamp purchased. We love the build of his THSF Lover Boy B33 dam and would take a 100 of them regardless of color!

• The Dreamy linage that builds the maternal pedigree here is responsible for as many dollars and banners as just about any cow family in the modern-day Simmental breed, they truly have stood at the forefront of the business for approaching a decade now, so you can trust that there is evidence to validate investment. The maternal granddam and original Bailey’s Ms Dreamy 946W has a lifetime of earnings well into the 7-figure range, and there looks to be no end in sight as she still rules to roost for Scott Bailey. • This purebred son of the National Champion TJSC Coping With Destiny 9K is one impressive specimen that comes with a big set of running gear, extra heavy muscle pattern and bold shape! • To add both look and power this guy fits the bill, along with supplying maternal power from some of the best in the breed.

• L83 Reserve 44N comes from a little different pedigree than Simmental buyers from the L83 are probably used to. He comes with a strong genomics profile that covers a lot of bases that directly affect the profitability of a stockmen’s program. • He is sired by the Lazy C Diamond sire, LCDR Reserve 210J who comes with breed leading growth and performance predictions that rank among the breeds most elite. Maternally he stems from a Raml purchase that is sired by the popular curve bender Mr SR Mic Drop G1534 and comes with plenty of function and utility value. • He came to the weaning pen with considerable scale pressure, measuring 771lbs. and the same impressive pay weight can be expected of his progeny as his genetic profile ranks him top 4% in the breed for WW and top 10% for YW and MWW. Beyond this he scores high for several profit driven traits and his All Purpose Index ranks him in the top quarter of the breed!
