C&C Residences is a forward-thinking, community-driven development in La Crosse, WI, designed to provide high-quality, attainable housing while fostering long-term neighborhood stability. A result of a collaborative effort between Three Sixty Real Estate Solutions, Habitat for Humanity, Mayo Clinic Health System, and The City of La Crosse, this project will integrate market-rate housing in a way that complements and enhances theneighborhood. The name “C&C Residences” honors Cadwallader Colden Washburn, a distinguished businessman, politician, and Union Army general whose legacy shaped both the state of Wisconsin and the broader American landscape. As the founder of what would become General Mills and a key political figure, Washburn’s contributions to industry, governance, and community development are woven into the fabric of La Crosse’s history. By naming the development after him, “C&C Residences” pays tribute to his enduring influence, symbolizing a commitment to progress, community growth, and the values of leadership and service that Washburn embodied.

Repurposing Land for Maximum Community Impact: Once a community garden, the site now offers the opportunity to blend green space with housing, meeting the dual needs of maintaining community gardens and providing additional housing.

Increasing Housing Options for Workforce Residents: With a growing demand for accessible housing, C&C Residences will provide much-needed options for essential workers and families, helping to address the region’s housing gap.

Incorporating Green Space and Community Engagement: The redevelopment will honor the original community garden vision by integrating garden components that encourage sustainable living, promote wellness, and bring neighbors together.
