PEARLAND CONVENTION & VISITORS BUREAU CELEBRATES 5-YEAR ANNIVERSARY This year marks the 5-year anniversary for the Pearland Convention & Visitors Bureau. The department is a division of the City of Pearland and is funded by the Motel Hotel Occupancy Tax. The team led by Executive Director Kim Sinistore remains focused on their primary purpose to expand Pearland’s economy by attracting visitors to the City. Each year millions of dollars from visitor spending generate increased business and the enhancement of Pearland’s image.
Highlights of happenings with the Pearland Convention & Visitors Bureau include the production of the Pearland Art & Crafts on the Pavilion event held the first weekend in October and collaboration with organizers of Pearland Opry on the Square to showcase traditional country music with four concert dates in 2018. More recently, the Pearland Convention & Visitors Bureau teamed up with City of Pearland Parks & Recreation in hosting the prestigious Texas Amateur Athletic Federation (TAAF) Winter Games of Texas held over Martin Luther King Jr. weekend. Pearland will host this major city-wide amateur athletic event again January 18-20, 2019 drawing visitors from across the state of Texas. “Pearland’s easy access to Houston area amenities just off Texas highways paired with more affordable hotels appeals to event organizers such as TAAF. Our reputation to host events of this caliber help to grow Pearland as a destination,” according to Sinistore.
Mark your calendar, as the Pearland Convention & Visitors Bureau will kick off National Travel and Tourism Week, May 6-13 with a 5-year anniversary Travel Rally Block Party on Friday, May 4th at the Pearland Town Center starting at 11 a.m. “Travel Then and Now” is the 2018 theme of National Travel and Tourism Week. Visit Pearland will celebrate with food trucks, interactive stations of local activities & attractions, and an awards ceremony honoring local hospitality and tourism superstars. Annually the Pearland Convention & Visitors Bureau continues to host and sponsor events designed to draw visitors to the City such as Kanzi Fest, Beerster and Oktoberfest.
