From Me to You

ALMA GERICKE INUKA FOUNDER

In life and especially also in business we are free to make whatever choices we want, but we are never free from the consequences of the choices we make. The daily choices we make will either make our dreams and goals a reality or make us feel out of control. Life has taught me that when you have goals and dreams but do nothing to work towards achieving these it will breed doubt and fear within you. But the moment you take small action steps it starts to breed confidence and courage within you to pursue your dreams. Small action steps reminded me that your INUKA Business is like a balloon . We have the freedom of choice on how big or small we want to blow up our balloons or business. Some balloon shapes are easy to blow up to any size we choose. Other balloons, just like some of the challenges we face on our journey to success, are very hard to work at to conquer and take some practice and creativity to get it into the shape we desire. But it does not matter the shape or size of the balloon, if you never blow breath into your balloon or blow life into your ideas or business, it will always stay small and deflated. Sometimes, we must try repeatedly to get the desired outcome we want, whether it is the shape of a balloon or the results we want in our business. Often, we need to think out of the box and become very creative to give shape to anything worth our while. It will take courage to be creative in your business and to find new ways of doing things. It involves breaking out of established patterns and to look at doing things in a different way.

Maya Angelou, has always been one of my best inspirations. She says this about creativity to get where you want to be:

“YOU CAN’T USE UP CREATIVITY. THE MORE YOU USE IT, THE MORE YOU HAVE.”

The beauty of your business is that every day affords you with an opportunity to start afresh, to keep on doing the things that bring results and try new creative ways to get to your desired results to live the life of your dreams.

In this edition of our In Touch magazine we celebrate all our Sales Quarter 3 and Mauritius Achievers that had to be creative on their journey towards reaching their goals and success. Their success required hard work, focus, dedication and sacrifices. Look into their eyes and beautiful faces as you page and read through this edition and you will notice the sheer joy of knowing that their hard work was worth their while.

May their success inspire you to know that your balloons, which are your creative ideas to work towards living the life of your dreams, are waiting for you to blow life into them.

Warm INUKA Hugs

NEW DIAMOND LEADER MILLICENT MOTHA MPUMALANGA

DIAMONDS ARE FORMED UNDER PRESSURE BUT NEVER FORGET: THEY ARE NOT FORMED OVERNIGHT

My journey with INUKA started in 2015 when I attended an INUKA SQ2 Event at Emperors Palace as a visitor. I was blown away by this exciting opportunity and decided to step out of my comfort zone and join INUKA to earn an extra income and to supplement my salary. Little did I know at the time how this business opportunity will develop and grow my potential and shape my skills over time. To be recognised as a Diamond Leader at a SQ Event at Emperors Palace in 2019 is a full circle journey for me. • I have mastered the skill of selling. I am now able to convince and persuade customers to buy my products. This was not easy for me in the beginning because I am an introvert. • I have mastered the art of recruiting and to motivate my downlines to work as a team. I have learnt how to present the business to others, how to teach the benefits of INUKA and how to follow up and nourish my team to be successful as well. • I had to learn important life lessons and skills. I had to be AMBITIOUS. I had to ENDURE through challenges, to be COURAGEOUS and UNSELFISH no matter what, to be CONSISTENT and to stay PRODUCTIVE every day. • I believe in my products. I am the first customer and the ambassador of my products. I use our products every day and as a result I became a marketing tool which attracts customers. It is a phenomenal feeling to know that I have been able to empower someone to have a better tomorrow. This made me realize that my INUKA Business Opportunity is much more than just making money. It is firstly about serving and helping people and money will follow.

• As we share the business opportunity some seeds might fall along the PATH and be picked up by birds. • Some seeds might fall on ROCKY grounds and never grow deep roots. • Some seeds might fall on THORNY grounds and grow but be overtaken by thorns. • Some seeds can fall on GOOD ground, grow deep roots and produce good fruits. Success is a choice. Do a self-introspection of the kind of seed you are. It’s never too late to start all over again. We are all capable of bearing good fruits. I keep on sowing seeds no matter the circumstances. I have learned to discipline my disappointments and focus on cultivating and watering the seeds so that I can reap the good fruits. I understand that if I share a great opportunity long enough, it will fall on good people who are hungry for success and together we will make the business work. • Our Ambassador, Kate Sekhu, for touching my life. • My Go Getter Team and the Eagles Team. You are the best! Asphelelanga kushoda uLEBO. • My Family for standing by me through trying times. I truly appreciate you. • All the Mentors on my journey. I would not have made it without your guidance and support. • Our Founder, Alma Gericke. Thank you for challenging me to DARE to be RARE. I am forever THANKFUL to: • God for bringing me this far.

If I can, you can! Let us go out there and continue to share our incredible INUKA Business Opportunity!

I draw strength and endurance for my business from the parable of a seed in the Bible which explains that:

RUB YOUR WRISTS TOGETHER

APPLY PERFUME TO PULSE POINTS

APPLY LOTION BEFORE YOUR FRAGRANCE

Firstly, by rubbing your wrists together you can dull the top notes. Secondly, when perfume is mixed too vigorously with your natural oils, it can alter the fragrance experience.

Pulse points are located close to where the blood pumps near the skin’s surface creating heat. Heat helps develop fragrance faster.

Fragrance will last longer on skin that’s well moisturized. Applying the INUKA Luxury Body Lotion after your shower will help your scent last much longer.

2

2

2

CONSIDER THE SEASONS

LAYER PRODUCTS WITH THE SAME SCENT

STORE YOUR FRAGRANCES NEAR MOISTURE

Perfumes react to the environment and will behave differently according to the time of year. In the hot summer weather, your perfume will evaporate quickly.

Use the matching INUKA Luxury Body Wash with the INUKA Luxury Lotion. Then apply the INUKA Roll-On and matching Perfume for a complete, long lasting fragrance experience.

Avoid storing your perfume in the bathroom since the heat and humidity from the shower can affect its quality.

3

3

3

TRY DIFFERENT PERFUMES FROM DIFFERENT FAMILIES

FORGET TO SPRAY PERFUME IN YOUR HAIR

REAPPLY THROUGHOUT THE DAY

The best way to find your signature fragrance is to test, try and fall in love with the scent that best suits you and your personality. You might be pleasantly surprised.

You hair, not your skin, might actually be the best place to spray perfume. It’s always in motion, it can actually diffuse the scent more easily.

Fragrances do not last forever and slowly get softer and softer through-out the day. Keep in mind to reapply your perfume every 4 to 6 hours.

22

Fun Facts For Fragrance Enthusists It’s a known fact that perfume can stimulate the mind and have an impact on a person’s emotional state. Perfume is known to instantly boost your confidence and make you feel more attractive. Perfumes are fun to play around with and to layer. They are an important part of our daily routine, be it for day wear, evening wear or for both. It s not uncommon for both men and woman to own a fragrance wardrobe, a wardrobe where they can decide every day, depending on their mood, which fragrance they want to wear. We are spoilt for choice! S MELL IS OUR MOST MEMORABLE SENSE It has been discovered that we remember smells for much longer than sights, sounds, tastes and feelings. A smell can bring back fond memories, childhood memories or even remind us of someone special. W E CAN SMELL BEFORE WE ARE BORN Smell is the first of our six senses to develop. This sense then continues to play a major role in our early development, with the likelyhood of crayons being one of our earliest scent memories from childhood. B UT NOT WHEN WE SLEEP It is commonly known that sounds can wake us during our sleep but not so commonly known is that scents cannot wake us from our sleep, we do not smell when we are sleeping. N ATURE IS AN ENDLESS SUPPLY OF SCENTS AND INGREDIENTS Fragrance oils are derived from just about everywhere in nature. Flowers, roots, fruits, bark and leaves to name but a few. We are in an endless pursuit for new and interesting scents. S MELLS MAKE US HAPPY Not so surprising but a fact none the less is that scents trigger emotions. They can lift our spirits and have a positive impact on our minds. Some scents bring back memories whilst others are just uplifting. O UR SENSE OF SMELL PEAKS DURING OUR LATE TEENS At around the age of 18 or 19 is when our sense of smell is fully developed and at it’s peak. A ND DURING PREGNANCY A pregnant woman’s sense of smell becomes heightened and hypersensitive. This is said to be due to shifting hormones.

“Nothing brings to life again a forgotten memory like fragrance”

LEADERSHIP IS NOT A POSITION OR A TITLE, IT IS ACTION AND EXAMPLE

FOLLOW YOUR DREAMS

MY FAVOURITE INUKA MOMENT

It was at the SQ1 Event at Grand West Cape Town when INUKA surprised Kate Seku with a Toyota Rush SUV. Remember, INUKA is a continental brand that creates a positive awareness for people while we conduct our business in a fair and ethical manner, uplifting and empowering people. That special moment and reward really showed that we are driven by the belief that you can uplift people through their own hard work and that breeds a culture where people believe in themselves and their self worth. It really showed INUKA believes that it can make a real difference in the lives of the people by creating a sustainable business model that cares for its own people. I was taken aback by that special rewarding moment. The tone of that moment attested to our motto -

5 Minutes with Yimanathi Malahlana INUKA HELPDESK CONSULTANT MY FAVOURITE FOOD It has to be my traditional fried chicken with rice accompanied by thick mixed vegetable. The reason, I was brought up with it and it’s more like a tradition in our household. MY FAVOURITE DRINK It is passion fruit and lemonade. A few years ago I was working at a restaurant and I was introduced to this drink and I stuck with it. When going out, it is the first drink that comes to mind when I have to order something to drink. MY FAVOURITE BOOK It has to be the book written by Zoleka Mandela, the grand daugher of the late state president of South Africa, Mr Nelson Mandela. She is recovering from drug addiction and also survived depression and she is a cancer survivor. The book is tittled “When hope whispers”. This book breeds life. It teaches people to have hope, faith, endurance and belief that your yesterday is not your potential but today and tomorrow are for you to win or lose. It is the testimony that you can always redeem and dust yourself off, get going, rediscover your normal self in any adversities that you went through in the next minute or day.

MY FAVOURITE INUKA PRODUCT It is a Black XS perfume. It builds my confidence and makes peolpe have perseptions about you.

MY FAMILY... We are a family of 5 members : 4 siblings still living with my mother under the same roof, looking out for each other. We are originally from Eastern Cape in Lady Frere. MY HOBBIES I like watching creative tv shows such as Top Billing – anything from interior design, fashion shows and talk shows.

LOVE WHAT YOU DO!

What is your favourite INUKA product and why?

INUKA 24Kt Gold Lipstick in KL30, it gives me the glow that I love. I like it because it has longevity and I do not have to re-apply it every 15minutes. It is a show stopper and gets a lot af attention. I am also in love with the INUKA Colour Stay Nail polishes. They truly last 5 days or more when sealed with any one of the INUKA Top Coats. They give my hands a beautiful glamorous look, day and night.

5 Minutes with Sinazo Dlakela INUKA HELPDESK CONSULTANT

WHAT IS YOUR FAVOURITE INUKA MOMENT? My favorite INUKA moment is watching Members celebrate their achievements. The excitement and the joy they show, encourages me to go an extra mile every time.

WHAT IS YOUR FAVOURITE FOOD AND WHY? I do not have a favourite dish or anything. I just like eating something nice and filling but not pap or bread.

WHAT IS YOUR FAVOURITE BOOK AND WHY? Steve Harvey’s "Act like a Success Think like Success". In this book he shows how you hold the secret to your own success and the fulfillment of our life's mission and purpose. Your gift is yours only; no one can take it away. WHAT IS THE BEST ADVISE YOU HAVE EVER BEEN GIVEN? The best advice I have been given is not to entertain anything negative that is said about the next person or take credit for something good done by someone else. "Blowing someone's candle does not make yours shine any better”.

TELL US A BIT ABOUT YOUR FAMILY? We are a big family but to my mother I am the only girl with one younger brother. I also have a daughter.

WHAT ARE YOUR HOBBIES? I love reading.
