Annual Business j eeting of the Delaware Avenue Baptist Church, held in the church parlors, April 12, 1916. On mttion the following were received, for baptism: Mr. C. ” '. Carlson, Miss Elizabeth Bowerman, Miss Elizabeth and Helen Wilson, Miss Helen Burkhardt, Janes Wilson and Elbert Bennett. The meeting was called to order by the pastor. The term of Mr. Fosdick and Mrs. Bowen having expired on the Church Commission the names of Mr. Fosdick and Mrs. Bowen were proposed by the Board of Deacons and Board of Trustees to fill the three year term. On motion of Dr. R&bdes seconded by.Mr. Hopkins the secretary was instructed to cast the ballot and Mr. Fosdick"and Mrs. Bowen declared elected. The Board of Deacons and Trustees presented the name of J.Wm. Ellis to fill the unexpired term of Dr. Gregory, resigned, and on motion of Dr. Gregory, seconded by Mrs. Case the secretary cast the ballot and Mr. Ellis was declared elected. The Annual Business Meeting of the Delaware Ave. Bapt. Church, held in the church parlors, April 10, 1918. The meeting was called to order by the pastor. Reports were received as follows: Church Clerk Treasurer of Fellowship Fund, Mr. Bugbee Secretary of Benevolences, Mr. McKillen Treasurer of Bible School, Mr. McRonald Moved and seconded that the reports be audited and received and publised in the Search Light. Nominations for deacons to succeed^ Mr. Cant, Mr. Rappleye Mr. Branch, Dr. Rhodes were as follows:' Nominated by the ’ deacons -- Mr. Branch Mr. Cant Mr. Hopkins • Mr. Rappleye , Mr. Dr. Deuel Rhodes Rowe Williams The Prudential Committee presented the. recommendation that ■r. Allen and Mr. Branch be appointed a committee on Revision of the Constitution and By-laws of the Church, and that they be instructed to eliminate the Church Commission and redistribute the functions and duties of s'aid Commission among the other existing constitutional committees and organisations. Me further recommend that this committee report Wednesday evening, May 8, and that notice of the consideration oF proposed amendments be given at this present meeting, April 10. Motion by Gregory and Bugbee for the adoption of -recoramendat.ion. On motion of. Roberts and Jameson an amendment was carried striking out the words, ’ ’ consideration of proposed amendments be given at this present meeting, April 10 ” . Motion carried that the committee report on any proposed amendments to the Constitution one week from tonight, April 17. JL An adjourned meeting of the Dela;vare Ave. Bapt. Church was held April 17, 1918. Leon Haring was appointed clerk pro tem. On recommendation of the deacons it was resolved that letters be granted to ’ ’ r. and Mrs. G. W. Sturdevant at their request, to the Baptist Church at Rome > N. Y. The matter of election of a Superintendent of the Sunday School for the ensuing year was taken up, the nominations of the previous meeting, Mrs.. T. Damon and Prof. Fosdick being before us. Mr. Branch reported an interview with Prof. Fosdick, to the effect that he could not consider the acceptance of such office if given to him. It was voted to proceed to the election and Mr. Haring moved the clerk be instructed tc cast one vote for Mrs. W. T. Damon for S. ( S. Supt., seconded by Dr. Gregory. Clerk reported such ballot ‘ cast and Mrs. Damon was declared elected. The Committee on amendments and changes to the Constitution advised their readiness to report. It was voted to postpone further action for two weeks. Adjourned. Leon Haring, Clerk, pro tem.

On motion, Raymond Knorr was transferred from the active to the Absentee List. It was voted to accept the recommendations of the Committee (said recommendations to be found on separate sheet following) that a War-time Commission be appointed. Also that this Commission start work as soon as possible.
