What will it cost? It is important to set yourself a limit before you bid and then to stick to it. When doing this, please bear in mind that the sale price (also called the “hammer price”) is subject to VAT, the auctioneer’s buyer’s premium together with the assignment fee.
How to pay
When do I pay? Full payment will be required within 5 working days for all registrations purchased. This will include all the extras for buyer’s premium, VAT and assignment fee. Late payment charges apply. Please see Terms & Conditions.
Nominee details
The full invoice total is shown each time you enter a bid (before you click ‘Submit’), so you will always know the total payable if you are successful. Late payment charges apply. Please see Terms & Conditions on pages 58-61.
To enable you to assign the registration to someone else you need to add them as a Nominee. Nominees can only be added / edited once a lot has been won and your invoice has been generated. Click on ‘My Account’, followed by ‘My Invoices’. You can enter nominee details from within your invoice. Alternatively wait until the V750 is received by post and add it yourself via DVLA’s online facility. There is no fee.

1. Credit and debit card
Log into your account at dvlaauction.co.uk and click on ‘My Account’ from the top bar, then ‘My Invoices’. Payment can be made using one debit or credit card only. There is no facility to spread the payment over 2 or more cards.
This will enable you to assign the registration number to a vehicle registered in your name or in that of the nominee. If you buy more than one registration, Certificates of Entitlement will not be issued until payment has been received in full for all registrations.
