WORK

PRO BONO & CITIZENSHIP

As international leaders in multiple fields of law, we advise the most influential organisations on the world’s biggest cases and deals. Whether we’re undertaking pioneering contentious or transactional work, providing specialist advice or getting involved in pro bono and citizenship initiatives, our innovative approach helps us to shape the future of the law. LAW, FROM THE INSIDE OUT On our website, you can discover in-depth case studies that examine our work from multiple angles, including text, videos and podcasts. To explore these ground-breaking matters from the perspective of the market and our people, go to our Work page.

Whether it’s a multi-jurisdictional pro bono legal matter, fundraising for a worthy cause, or working with our own supply chain to embed best practice, we focus on building relationships so that we obtain the best possible result for everyone involved. And while today’s business environment presents complex challenges, it’s also an exciting time to be a responsible global professional services business. We’re uniquely placed to respond to a range of needs that exist in the communities and regions in which we do business. We’re rising to the challenges and opportunities of an interconnected world in which human rights abuses and climate change have the potential to affect every community. And we’re committed to the process of creating a truly sustainable professional services business. Our initiatives fall broadly within the following four areas: PRO BONO LEGAL SERVICES All lawyers are encouraged to participate in the firm’s pro bono programme: whether internationally or closer to home, it’s up to you. We focus on five key areas: access to justice, international development, social impact investment, not-for-profit advisory work and human rights (particularly anti-trafficking and anti-slavery).

COMMUNITY PARTNERSHIPS Whether we’re supporting a charity through fundraising, or providing mentoring or scholarship opportunities for disadvantaged high school students, we offer multiple ways to facilitate and support the relationships our people develop with community partners. We recognise that we all have a part to play in ensuring that we balance our growth as a business with doing what we can to reduce our impact on the environment. Our sustainability strategy has four pillars: reducing our environmental impact, engaging our people in sustainability issues, leadership, and supporting charities acting on climate change through our pro bono and community work. BUSINESS AND HUMAN RIGHTS As a signatory to the United Nations Global Compact (UNGC) we’re committed to being a responsible business. As a participant in the UNGC, we explicitly commit to respect internationally recognised human rights, and to ensure that we’re not complicit in human rights abuses through our supply chain and stakeholder relationships.
