A short introduction to CHEPE CUADRA, MFA

José Luis Cuadra Mejía (Chepe Cuadra) was born in Nicaragua and lives in United States.

Mr. Cuadra is a Master in Fine Arts. He is an international artist who has an extensive artistic biography as he has been showing for many years his artworks at different locations in America and Europe. His work is comprised of magnificent abstractions which were born in his mind, studies and personal experiences. He has always been able to project a restless spirit that has never been detained by time or adversity. Mr. Cuadra is a clear example of tireless artistic work. Each piece, like a poem, deserves the analysis and thoughtfulness of the observer. Maybe we may say that each of his paintings can tell a different story.

This book pretends to show the world – thanks to digital media – part of the work of an artist whose sincerity and devotion to the arts and culture has no limits.

This set of works is a reflection on the circle and its contents.

The circle as an image recognized and used for centuries for all the civilizations that inhabited the Earth, for being a symbol that speaks of the beginning and the end; death and rebirth. A reflection that has been a constant in the human being from his first thoughts related to his existence and beyond "who we are, where we come from and where we are going". The union of the circle and the "Venus" is an approach to the origin of the human species and its spiritual beginning. The "Venus" as a representation of the divine: The Deity that generates life and sustains it. The "Goddess" within the circle tell us about the principle of life and death as part of the cycle of existence.
