AXIS DANCE COMPANY MAKES A RADICAL IMPACT
The next few months will be busy for Oak-

Located in West Oakland, this spacious warehouse offers a 30' by 40' sprung dance floor, 28 foot high ceilings and a roll up door. It is heated, has high speed internet, a sound system, private bathroom and is ADA accessible. Rentals that include aerial activities require the hiring of an approved rigger to review and approve the renter’s written rigging and safety plan and insur- ance certificate. The space can be used for rehearsals, classes, informal performances, photo shoots and workshops.
Performing work by Artistic Director and Choreographer Marc Brew in collaboration with JooWan Kim, Artistic Director of Ensemble Mik Nawooj; The Reflective Surface by Amy Seiwert with an original score by Darren Johnston, and Nadia Adame's new work Historias Rotas with music by Paul Shapera.
AXIS Choreo-Lab June 18-23, 10am-5pm Malonga Casquelourd Center, Oakland
Aimed to develop, refine and advance the artistic skills of disabled choreographers, in the Choreo-Lab participants will be led through a creation process by Artistic Director Marc Brew and Caroline Bowditch (UK/Australia), collaborating with an in- tegrated cast of performers including AXIS dancers and professional dancers from the local community. This year's program will serve seven disabled choreographers coming from all over the US. The Choreo-Lab is the first program of its kind and was developed out of AXIS Artistic Advancement Platform to further the artistry of the field. axisdance.org
