For Those About to Volunteer, We Salute You!
Proudly Presented by:
Volunteering is the backbone of our community. I’ve said it many times, and it remains as true as ever. Everywhere you look across St. Thomas and Elgin County, you’ll find events, theatre productions, fundraisers, and community initiatives made possible by the dedication of volunteers. Their time, energy, and passion are what keep our community thriving. From April 19th to 25th, we celebrate Volunteer Appreciation Week, a time to recognize and thank those who give so much of themselves to make a difference in the lives of others. Their contributions often happen behind the scenes, but their impact is felt everywhere. Throughout April, our publications, Hometown St. Thomas, Boomers and Beyond , and The Port Stanley Villager, we are proud to highlight the incredible work of local volunteer organizations. In each issue, you’ll find stories that shine a light on who these groups are, what volunteering means to them, and heartfelt messages of gratitude for the individuals who support their missions. These stories are a reminder that volunteering is not only essential but deeply rewarding. It connects people, strengthens communities, and creates lasting change in both big and small ways. This month, I encourage you to consider becoming a volunteer if you’ve never tried it before. You may be surprised by just how meaningful the experience can be, and how much of a difference you can make right here in our community.
