Ryan concurs, “The Foundation and the Hospital are more aligned than ever. We have been able to identify the Hospital’s emerging needs and translate them to the community, enabling others to take action. The recent Transforming Tomorrow Campaign, which surpassed the fundraising goal of eight million dollars, is a prime example of this.” In the spirit of reflecting on the past and looking boldly toward tomorrow, the STEGH Foundation is planning exciting activities to celebrate with the community and raise vital funds. For instance, they are exploring the return of the highly regarded STEGH Foundation Gala this fall, 2026. “We’re coming back together, and we’re bringing the energy. There has been a longing from those I have spoken to,” says Ryan. Expressing their appreciation for community involvement, Ryan offers, “When we call for support, it’s there. We are honoured to be a trusted community resource, transforming care.” As Karen reflects, “It is humbling to see the engagement in the community and the generous support through our Foundation. Every bit counts, and I am filled with gratitude to the people giving what they can through donations and volunteerism. I want to thank our community across St. Thomas and Elgin County for their generosity and for trusting us as their care provider.” Considering STEGH’s donors, Ryan echoes, “Because of you, we are able to make dramatic advancements in the care that we offer in this world-class hospital. This is neighbours helping neighbours. Whether contributions are directed toward equipment or ensuring that our staff are receiving quality education, we are all on a mission of healthcare excellence at STEGH.” As Ryan concludes, “It’s clear the community loves our Hospital; that motivates me in this role. Generation after generation has chosen to live in this region and continue to support STEGH. We want to honour the legacy that these families have made by offering the best care possible.” Whether it be volunteers offering their time, members of the community placing donations, or payroll contributions from frontline caregivers at STEGH, these efforts do not go unnoticed. As our community grows — and the need for healthcare excellence close to home matters more than ever — the alignment of vision and leadership will guide STEGH into the future.
