‘Rogers, Richie and Robinson’: Balaclava Crossing Benefit Concert by Peri Hayes Organizer, Beth Fellinger, introduces the April 18th ‘Rogers, Richie and Robinson’ benefit concert: “We want people to have a fun night, raising both awareness and funds for Indwell’s Balaclava School Project, which will bring more affordable housing to St. Thomas. We have received positive responses from the community. Christian Reform churches across Aylmer and St. Thomas have supported Indwell for some time and there are four churches sponsoring this event, with a planning team from each. Beth voices, “Each of the three in the band, Kevin, Luke and Joel, I know personally. They are good, and the evening will be filled with music you can sing along to. While facilitated by a church, this event is for the community and anybody is welcome -- we are raising the money for Balaclava. Seeing the difference from what Balaclava was to what it is becoming is exciting!” Indwell developed the Railway City Lofts and The Station, formulated to support unhoused individuals. Community Engagement Coordinator for Elgin, Mary Jane Ferriman, shares that — breaking ground this month — this latest project will be named Balaclava Crossing: “The building represents an intersection of homeless and home, uncertainty and future. Located by the railroad, this name also continues the theme of honouring local heritage and symbolizing a transition into hope.” Mary Jane proceeds to express, “Indwell is honoured to have the support of such strong community partnerships that recognize
