Consider writing or updating the checklist for that job to include ONLY the 3-7 items most often missed. One physi- cian from Baltimore helped save 1,500 lives in 18 months with this classic defense. 6) Improve Systems: Instead of trying to “fix” your workers, improve your work processes & systems. How? Pick a pro- cess that you regularly do. With trusted front-line experts, brainstorm one low-cost, low-risk, low-fear, low-mainte- nance process improvement that would make it easier for front-line experts to do the right thing in that process. For example: Companies with fleets of trucks have dramati- cally reduced serious injuries and save millions of dollars each year by simply avoiding left-hand turns. 7) Build Resilience (Advanced) : The world’s most High Re- liability Organizations (HROs) don’t try to eliminate all er- rors. They don’t “Proceduralize Everything” either. Instead, they build resilience so that most errors become easier to recover from and learn from. How do HROs do this? They look for “weak signals,” like the sound an engine makes when it’s just starting to develop a problem.

Do you need printed sheets? We have your answer.. Introducing Heartland’s ColorCorr. This is “flexo-printing in the round”. On our corrugator we can print up to 109” wide. The advantage is that we can print the equivalent of ½ roll at a time and not be required to keep several rolls of very expensive preprinted paper on the floor. Much less waste and risk. In continual print mode, we use either laser-engraved rubber rolls or solid rubber rolls to print a “flood coat” or a repeating pattern. If we are printing a repeating pattern, we can run a two-color design on the paper. Customers have found that running sheets we print can allow them to run a lighter-grade due to reduced caliper loss, and in some cases eliminate one or more machine passes.
