transmission, making isolation and eradication. While it is estimated 80% of infected people are asymptomatic, symptoms can range from headaches, fever, fatigue, muscle pain and can manifest neuroinvasive conditions. Meningitis and encephalitis are among some of the neurological damaging conditions developed, typically in the elderly. First documented cases of WNV were reported in Northern Uganda, eventually spreading on almost every continent. There have been recurring outbreaks over the years, as well as changes in the virus’s epidemiology. A recent spike of WNV in 2025 is cause for concern due to more and more epidemiological changes. Climate change has also contributed to infection rates of WNV, as well as other mosquito and tick borne diseases. An understanding of WNV history, symptoms, treatments and current infection rates are important to be aware of during outbreaks. Sophia Zinn - “Factors That Affect Athlete Performance” (Session 17) An athlete’s success in a sport is commonly attributed to the work that the athlete puts in, however there are many factors that go overlooked. While they may be overlooked they do not play a small role in an athlete’s performance. An important factor that is often forgotten is the relationship that is held between the coach and an athlete. The coach-athlete relationship has a major impact on athletes and it can greatly affect the individual and team performance. My presentation will explore how exactly

the coach and athlete relationships influence an athlete. Specifically, it will go in depth about how a negative relationship increases risk of burnout and decreases motivation, while a positive relationship fosters healthy environments that lead to mastery goal achievements and higher levels of performance. It helps explain the importance of the relationship of coaches and their athletes throughout all levels and how it can affect team dynamics. Lazar Ziric - “What is Lifetime Learning Credit (LLC)” (Poster Session II) I will cover the Lifetime Learning Credit (LLC) which is a federal tax credit that assists students and working adults to reduce the cost of education. My reason is that most people are not aware that the LLC could be used in other areas besides the classic college programs such as graduate school, career training, professional certification courses and even part-time or non-degree courses. I will discuss what I have learned regarding who qualifies to receive the credit, how much it will be able to decrease your taxes, which expenses will be counted (tuition and required fees), and the impact of income on the amount that one can claim. I am also going to provide a basic example of how the credit is calculated in a real life scenario. My project aims at demonstrating why the Lifetime Learning Credit can help to make further education more affordable and in particular, to the individuals who are advancing their skills, changing careers, or going back to school in their later years.
