Welcome to the Los Rios Community College District’s Dual Enrollment Flipbook for middle and high school students in Sacramento County! What is Dual Enrollment? Dual Enrollment lets you take college classes while you’re still in high school—or even middle school (as long as you’re at least 14 years old by the first day of class). The best part? You can earn college credits that count toward a certificate or degree, and those credits go on your official college transcript. This means you get a head start on college—for little or no cost. The Los Rios Community College District has four colleges in the Sacramento area: American River College, Cosumnes River College, Folsom Lake College, and Sacramento City College. All these colleges offer Dual Enrollment options for high school students, including: • Regular Dual Enrollment classes that are college classes you take while in high school. These classes are usually taken on a college campus, at a college center, or online, and you’ll apply and register on your own.
