Health Science and Medical Technology The Health Science and Medical Technology sector prepares students for careers in one of the fastest- growing industries in the world—health care. Students can explore five career areas: • Biotechnology – Research and develop new medical discoveries. • Patient Care – Work directly with patients to support their health. Patient care includes careers in dental, diagnostic imaging, emergency services, nursing, patient care and support, pharmacy, rehabilitation, surgery, and vision/eye care. • Healthcare Administrative and Operational Services – Manage the business side of health care and keep hospitals and clinics running smoothly. This includes careers in healthcare interpreting, health information technology, and front office medical assisting.
