Information and Communication Technology Apprenticeships at American River College At American River College (ARC), students can jumpstart their careers through exciting apprenticeship programs built with local industry partners. Apprenticeships are a unique way to learn because they offer three big benefits at once: a paid job, hands-on training, and college instruction. One option is the Enterprise Software Engineering and Development Apprenticeship program. This program prepares students for careers as software engineers and software developers. Enterprise software is the type of computer software that large companies, schools, and organizations use to keep everything running smoothly. It’s built to handle a lot of information and help many people work at the same time. For example, schools might use enterprise software to track grades, while businesses might use it to manage payroll, customer orders, or team communication. In this program, apprentices receive on-the-job training along with specialized classroom instruction that follows official state standards. By completing the program, students gain real-world work experience, earn college credit, and build the credentials needed to succeed in the fast-growing world of software and technology. If you want to learn more about how to get started, you can connect with ARC’s Dean of Technical Education Office for guidance.
