Then scroll through the webpage to see a complete list of programs available for the program area. When you see the certificate or degree program you are interested in, click on + Certificate Requirements (or + Degree Requirements) to see the complete list of classes you need to take for that degree or certificate.
This flipbook lists the different certificate and degree programs for each of the four Los Rios Community College’s websites. When you click a link, you’ll be taken to the main webpage for that program.
All program webpages include Program Maps , which you can find by scrolling down to the “Program Maps” section (FYI… these are called “Roadmaps” at American River College). A program map shows you all the classes you’ll need to take to earn a specific certificate or degree . From there, just click on the program you want to explore and to see the details.
When looking at the Certificate Road Map, pay attention to the following notes: • Prerequisite: A prerequisite is a class you must complete before taking another class to show you’re ready for it. For example, to take ENGWR 301, you first need to pass ENGL C1000 (formerly ENGWR 300) with a grade of “C” or better. • Corequisite: A corequisite is a class you are required to take at the same time as another class, or before it. For example, if you sign up for GEOL 301 (Physical Geology Laboratory), you also need to take GEOL 300 (Physical Geology) either during the same semester or before GEOL 301. • Advisory: An advisory is a recommendation for a class or skill you should have before or while taking another course. It’s not required, but it’s suggested to help you be more successful in the class. Read through the entire Program Map including scheduling notes, advising notes, and career options. Make sure to confirm with your academic counselor the courses you would like to take and when. Need Help?
