The following sections summarize City of Fort Worth crash data from 2019 through 2023, and provide statistical trends, temporal patterns, crash severity, and modes. Crashes by Year Figure 1 summarizes the number of crashes and crashes that resulted in KSI from 2019 through 2023. During those five years, there were 68,936 crashes, 2,589 of which were KSI crashes. The overall KSI rate (i.e., the percentage of crashes resulting in KSI) is about 3.8%. In 2019 the city saw the highest share of all crashes across the five years (21.5% or 14,842 out of 68,936 total crashes), while 2022 had the highest share of KSI crashes (21.6% or 562 out of 2,589 KSI crashes), and the highest percentage of crashes resulting in KSI (4.2%). From 2022 to 2023, the total number of crashes increased and KSI crashes decreased slightly, but the percentage of crashes resulting in KSI remained high (4%).
