The distribution of VRU crashes by number of lanes follows a similar trend as that for crashes across all modes ( Figure 22 and Table 27 ). However, a higher share of severe crashes involving VRUs occurred on roads with four or more lanes (41.6% of all VRU-involved crashes compared to 35.2% for crashes across all modes).
