Performance Overview
To proactively reduce risks and enhance overall performance, a series of structured, innovative measures was implemented. Regular ES&H training programs were conducted to reinforce regulatory compliance and promote safe work practices across all disciplines. In parallel, incident management processes were further optimized through improved communication and coordination mechanisms, enabling timely corrective actions and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

In 2025, a total of 8 environmental accidents occurred. Corrective actions have been completed for all incidents.

In 2025, a total of 26,609 trainings were delivered, reaching 47,270 trained employees and resulting in 47,122 total training man-hours.

Environmental Highlights
1) Project Chemical Management In 2025, various works were conducted on chemical storage, chemical use, and chemical waste management within the project. Mobile chemical containers were purchased for the work sites. COSHH forms were prepared in 5 languages for 215 chemicals to enable safe chemical management. In addition, construction began on a central hazardous waste storage area for hazardous chemical waste in Gostivar Camp.
2) Project Waste Management D emonstrates that environmental management is not “just a requirement,” but an integral part of operations. They provide clear commitment through an environmental policy built on the following principles: Compliance with legal and other requirements Pollution prevention Continuous improvement This policy is communicated to all employees and relevant stakeholders, creating a shared framework for achieving EMS objectives.
3) Operational Controls and Core Programs To manage environmental risks on-site, the following core programs are implemented: Waste Management Source separation, recycling practices, and disposal through licensed facilities. Wastewater Management Treatment components and routine inspection/control steps. Chemical Management Storage, transport, and disposal procedures for hazardous materials (HAZMAT). Biodiversity Management Protection and monitoring of sensitive areas. Environmental Monitoring Noise measurements, site inspections, and reporting. Environmental Training Regular training programs to raise employee awareness.

4) Hierarchical Environmental Control Approach In managing environmental risks, the principle of “the most effective solution is at the source” is applied through the following hierarchy: Reduce → Reuse → Recycle → Control → Dispose This order emphasizes minimizing waste and impact at the source, and where unavoidable, ensuring controlled management and appropriate disposal.
5) Performance Monitoring and Evaluation Throughout the project, environmental measurements have been carried out both internally and externally. All measurements are monitored and recorded in the project monitoring log

In 2025, various studies were conducted for the project's waste recycling. The most important of these was the purchase of a recycling machine for the project and the establishment of a waste sorting system. Since the arrival of the recycling machine, 12,130 plastic bottles and 8,420 aluminum cans have been recycled.

Occupational Health & Medical Services

Throughout 2025, occupational health and medical services played a critical role in supporting safe and resilient project delivery across Sections 1, 2, and 4. Delivered by Nikob Medical, the Project’s medical services operated in full alignment with HSE requirements, contractual obligations, and national regulations—ensuring continuous coverage, rapid emergency response, and a strong preventive health approach. Medical services were provided on a 24/7 basis, guaranteeing uninterrupted access to care for all project personnel. Dedicated on-site clinics supported active work fronts while maintaining high emergency readiness, fully integrated within the Project’s ES&H Management System. Preventive Health & Emergency Preparedness Preventive site medical visits enabled early identification of health risks and timely intervention, supporting workforce well-being and operational continuity. Emergency preparedness was further strengthened through the deployment of eight AEDs across the Project, supported by certified AED, First Aid, and Mental Health training programs—enhancing both physical and psychological emergency response capability. Data, Assurance & Continuous Improvement A medical data dashboard is under development to consolidate clinic information, monitor trends, and support data-driven preventive planning and continuous improvement—while maintaining strict confidentiality and controlled access. Together, these measures reinforced a resilient health support system— protecting people, strengthening readiness, and sustaining safe project performance throughout 2025.

Emergency Drills & Exercises
Emergency drills and practical exercises are fundamental to our ESH culture, ensuring that everyone working on the Corridor 8 & 10D Motorway Project can respond quickly, safely, and in a coordinated manner. A total of 24 drills were conducted in 2025, comprising 6 Emergency Drills, 4 Fire Drills, 7 Medical Drills, 3Environmental Drills, and 4 Rescue Drills. Regular simulations and hands-on practice help personnel refine roles and responsibilities, strengthen communication under pressure, and confirm that critical resources—such as alarms, muster points, emergency equipment, and escalation lines—remain fully functional and accessible. Each drill is followed by a structured debrief to capture lessons learned, assign corrective actions, and verify closure, driving continuous improvement across all sites. This disciplined approach reduces risk, protects our people and the environment, and reinforces a culture of preparedness that supports safe project delivery and the well-being of the communities we serve.

Throughout 2025, ES&H awareness and knowledge-sharing activities were systematically implemented across the Project. Lessons learned from incidents were communicated to the field through ES&H Bulletins and Knowledge Share initiatives.

WHAT HAPPENED?
OVERTURNED CRANE
On October 28, 2025, at section 4, a Liebherr mobile crane belonging to the Drainage Department entered the public asphalt road after Km 20 alignment to perform segment installation at Km 27+060. The crane veered to the edge of the road and overturned on a narrow culvert crossing near Km 23+300. The incident has resulted with property damage.
REMEMBER
Job planning- All activities, including those that are deemed as not directly work related, such as transportation, material handling, preparation works etc. should be planned and risks and mitigation measures to be assessed and communicated to all employees. Heavy equipment and material transport plans should be submitted to the equipment department for preparation of the journey management plan, ensuring that all involved parties are aware of the work methods and risks. Use only licensed escort vehicles- pick up trucks driven by foreman/supervisors are not licensed escort vehicles (unless approved and authorized in the journey management plan) Whenever you are not sure of the task at hand- ask questions! DRIVING BEHAVIOURS- All project employees need to ensure compliance to driving requirements- daily inspection of their vehicles and equipment, obeying speed limits, using seat belts, no distractions and drive by the routes that they have been instructed to use. EVERYONE IN THE PROJECT HAS THE STOP WORK AUTHORITY! Whenever you see a violation USE YOUR STOP WORK AUTHORITY!!!!
WHAT HAPPENED?
BEJV DUMP TRUCK LAND ON TO PASSENGER SIDE
A BEJV dump truck hauling rock fill material on a regional public road in Section 2B (forestry area) was forced to make way for a local timber truck approaching from the opposite direction. The soft ground alongside the road gave way beneath the dump truck causing it to land on to it's passenger side. The driver of the dump truck who was wearing a seat belt, self evacuated with no visible injuries. The dump truck driver was transferred to the BEJV clinic for medical evaluation.
REMEMBER
Do not approach road edges with low bearing capacity and insufficiently stabilized shoulder areas; these zones significantly increase the rollover moment for heavy- tonnage vehicles. Reduce your speed and maintain maximum control when driving on narrow and single-lane roads. Always wear your seatbelt. Any nonconformities identified on local roads must be reported immediately to the Earthworks and ES&H Departments. To prevent vehicles from entering unstable ground and to reduce rollover risks, the relevant departments will initiate the necessary corrective actions, and appropriate measures (such as road widening, installation of barricades, or construction of berms) will be implemented on site.

WHAT HAPPENED?
BOOM TRUCK OPERATOR HAND INJURY
After completingthe lifting operation forshutter installation, the boom truck operator remained within the work zone during the mold closure process. The operator rested his right hand on the mold, and at this time, a colleague positioned on the opposite side of the formwork released a mold support beam. The beam struck the operator’s right index finger, resulting in a minor laceration and a fracture. The injured person (IP) had joined the project on August 15th, 2025 , just over a month prior to the incident.
REMEMBER
Newly hired employees, motivated by enthusiasm and a desire to demonstrate their capabilities, may take on tasks they have not been adequately trained for. It should be continually reinforced that wearing appropriate gloves is required for all types of work activities performed on site. Following completion of each part of the work activity, all employees no longer part of the remaining work activities must move away from the work area. Ensure that the sequence of work activities is well planned and additional hand tools or equipment required are provided at start of work.
WHAT HAPPENED?
RIGHT THUMB INJURY WHILE INSTALLING PLASTIC HOSE COVERS Atthe rebar factory in Skopje, an employee sustained an injuryto his right thumb. The piling cage was not properly secured. While installing plastic tubes for φ 25 rebars, the employee was holding the cage with his left hand and attaching the plastic tube with his right hand. During the process, the unsecured cage rotated, causing his right thumb to become trapped. The employee was wearing gloves at the time of the incident. He was transported by a BEJV technician to Acibadem Sistina Hospital, where the medical team informed us that stitches would be applied. The employee was diagnosed with two fractures on right finger. Treatment has been provided in the related hospital to IP.
REMEMBER
Hands must never be placed in pinch-point areas. Always communicate before releasing any work component. Coordinate simultaneous work to prevent unexpected movements. The gloves used at the time of the accident were not impact- resistant; task-appropriate gloves must be used in all work areas. Chocks should always be placed under rolling objects to ensure their stability.

WHAT HAPPENED?
A rollover incident occurred on the Gostivar–Tetovo Highway (Section 1) involving a loaded truck belonging to subcontractor. The driver sustained a minor leg injury and was transported by ambulance to Gostivar State Hospital. An X-ray examination revealed no findings, and the incident was classified as a first aid case. BEJV teams promptly secured the area and coordinated the recovery of the vehicle. Due to the incident, the Mother Teresa Road (A2) between Gostivar and Tetovo was closed for 2 hours and 25 minutes and reopened at approximately 12:10. No additional emergencies were reported, and the impact was limited to traffic congestion. An estimated 5 liters of hydraulic oil, 10 liters of engine oil, and 1 liter of diesel fuel were spilled. Spill response actions removed around 15 liters, while less than 1 liter remained dispersed in the soil over a distance of approximately 500 meters. TRUCK OVERTURNED ON MAIN ROAD
REMEMBER
Driver’s lack of experience increases the risk of losing control, especially on wet roads. Sudden braking and sharp maneuvers are primary contributors to rollover incidents. Starting work without a signed JHA leads to unassessed and uncontrolled hazards. Using a copied FLHA prevents identification of the actual hazards of that specific day. Driver distraction (confirmed by GPS behavior) is a critical root cause. Wet road conditions increase rollover risk even when driving within the speed limit. Oil/fuel spill creates environmental impact; drivers must be aware of spill response requirements. STOP WORK can prevent the incident (unsigned JHA + copied STARRT CARD+ inexperienced driver).
WHAT HAPPENED?
On 20/11/2025 at 18:10, a finger injury occurred during a rebar unloading operation. While unloading the fourth rebar bundle with a chain sling, the boom truck chain became stuck between bundles. The involved person attempted to pull the rebars forcefully to free the chain and did not notice a sharp metal wire trapped between the bundles. The wire cut through the impact- resistant glove, injuring the IP’s right index finger. The BEJV clinic team transported the IP to Gostivar State Hospital, where the doctor applied sutures. REMEMBER
Trained and competent riggers must be present: Only trained and authorized riggers must perform lifting and rigging activities. Clear communication is critical: Before any lifting action, all people involved must be in visual contact with the operator and understand the hand signals. Hands must be kept out of the line of fire: Employees should never place their hands between rebars, tie-wires, or bundles and should use taglines for setting of the load. Proper planning prevents incidents: All extended hour works must be communicated with Management and the ESH Department for proper oversight. Stop work: If materials become entangled (e.g., chain stuck between bundles), work must be stopped and a safe method to be discussed before continuing to activity.

ES&H
The Environmental Safety and Health (ES&H) Training Program is designed to ensure compliance with safety standards, environmental regulations, and health protocols across all operations. This program aims to reduce workplace hazards, promote a culture of safety, and protect both personnel and the environment. This program emphasizes shared responsibility for safety and environmental stewardship, ensuring that every employee is equipped with the knowledge and authority to maintain a safe and compliant workplace.
Key Components of our ESH Training and Competence Program • ESH Orientation Introductory sessions for new employees and contractors, covering company safety policies, life critical requirements (LCR), environmental responsibilities, emergency procedures, and compliance requirements. • New Employee Engagement Program (NEEP) NEEP is a structured process that turns craft workers with little or no construction experience into safe, productive workers. The objective is to assign a “BUDDY” to a New Employee to provide basic construction site knowledge and awareness of ES&H, and the skills to perform their role safely and effectively. NEEP is identified by “NEEP Green Sticker and Orange Hi-Viz vest.” • Job-Specific Training Targeted instruction tailored to roles with unique risks, equipping employees to manage hazards associated with their tasks and equipment. • On-Site Awareness Training (Safety Bus) Mobile training units deliver interactive safety sessions directly at job sites to reinforce awareness and practical application of safety measures.

Comprehensive education on identifying, assessing, and mitigating workplace hazards, including chemical, physical, and ergonomic risks. Hazard school is utilized as part of the training and competence plan. The aim: To improve employees’ efforts to identify and control hazards in the workplace and to understand their roles in preventing hazardous situations.

Off-Road Trainings
Off-Road Driving Training Program was launched to enhance the safety and operational efficiency of our light vehicle drivers operating on challenging construction alignment roads across our site.
Primary Training Objectives This program is designed to develop the following critical skills: Effective Use of Vehicle Technology: Understanding the correct usage of drivetrain modes (2H, 4H, 4L) for different terrain conditions (mud, loose surfaces, steep slopes). Reinforcement of Safe Driving Techniques : Mastering proper driving posture, speed control, and braking techniques for deep mud, cambered roads, and rough terrain. Vehicle Systems Familiarization & Management : Learning the purpose and operation of vehicle systems such as the 4WD info screen, differential lock, ESC (Traction Control), Hill Descent Control (HDC), and Drive Modes (Slippery, Tow/Haul, etc.). Risk Awareness and Foresight : Monitoring vehicle pitch and roll angles via the 4WD screen to identify and mitigate risky situations proactively.
Environmental Trainings Specialized courses focused on environmental stewardship, waste management, pollution prevention, and compliance with environmental regulations. Craft Skill Trainings The Craft Skill Trainings Program has been developed to ensure that all new manual craft professional employees on the project receive the required minimum amount of ES&H, Quality, and Job/Skill Specific training before commencing work on site, to perform their roles safely and effectively.

Focused initiatives addressing critical topics such as:
Hand Protection — “Safe Hands / Safe Job” (October 2025) Promoting proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) to prevent injuries. This initiative is part of our ongoing commitment to workplace safety and aims to raise awareness about the importance of protecting our hands from injuries and hazards. Key message: Importance of using Stop Look Assess Manage (SLAM) approach in hand injury prevention.
Campaign activities:
Throughout the campaign, we conducted awareness trainings on the safety bus and interactive activities on hand injury incidents and prevention strategies. After the training, the workers sign the Hand Protection Pledge to demonstrate their commitment to hand protection.

Suicide Prevention — “You are not alone”
Raising mental health awareness and providing access to support resources. As part of our ongoing mental health during the awareness campaign, we prepared a presentation, videos along with supporting brochures and posters that were distributed during the campaign.
Mobile Equipment & Personnel Interface (MEPI) (November 2025) Ensuring safe practices when working around heavy machinery. Through this campaign, we aimed to raise awareness, promote safe practices, and reduce risks associated with MEPI Risks. Campaign content: The campaign featured a training presentation, videos, and real case scenarios to highlight key safety practices and promote a safer working environment.
Stop Work Authority (November 2025)
Empowering employees to stop any work activity that appears unsafe or could lead to an incident. Campaign activities: The campaign included Interactive training sessions explaining when and how to exercise STOP Work Authority. Posters, with clear STOP Work Authority messaging were posted on the project locations.

Cold Stress Campaign – December 2025
The Cold Stress Safety Campaign was delivered at various project locations through the Safety Bus to raise awareness of hazards associated with working in cold environments. The campaign focused on recognizing early signs of cold stress, using appropriate protective clothing and equipment, applying safe work practices, and understanding emergency response procedures to prevent cold-related illnesses and injuries.

Safety Safari was conducted in Sections 1-2 and Section 4, where thre incidents with fatal outcomes from JV projects were reviewed and th preventative measures discussed to avoid recurrence were shared wit the teams.
Mental health procedures revised and updated 11 MHFA added to the team (Total 15) Mental health toolbox talks held on monthly basis Further Mental Health training opportunities being offered September is Suicide prevention month – various aspects of suicide prevention will be discussed throughout the month

STAY AT LEAST 7 METERS FROM WORKING PLANT AND EQUIPMENT UNLESS PROTECTED BY HARD BARRIERS.
DO NOT ENTER AREAS ON FOOT WHICH ARE DESIGNATED AS “NO BOOTS ON THE GROUND.”
(Only if absolutely necessary to approach working equipment and enter the hazard zone, first get eye contact with the operator and wait for equipment to stop and be switched off before approaching.)
