AGM Report Final Booklet

REPORT OF THE MEMBERSHIP COMMITTEE

The Membership Committee is delighted to report continued growth in membership during the Financial year 2024/2025. Over this period, we are pleased to confirm that our Transfer of Engagement with Baltinglass Credit Union ensured membership successfully transitioned to Altura Credit Union in March this year, further strengthening our community and expanding our common bond. Membership through natural growth and the transfer of members from Baltinglass increased by 16,622, bringing the total number of members of Altura Credit Union Ltd. to 55,793 at year-end. This is a very positive outcome, with strong growth across all branches. We aim to build on this success in the coming year so that all eligible individuals can enjoy the benefits of Credit Union membership. Joining Altura Credit Union has never been easier. By downloading our app, prospective members can complete the process securely using advanced biometric facial verification and upload proof of ID—all without visiting a branch. For added convenience, applicants can also request a Current Account, Debit Card, and, where applicable, an overdraft facility at the same time. Our Current Account service is designed to eliminate the long waiting times often associated with other financial institutions. The Committee ensures that all new members meet eligibility requirements and comply with legal obligations, including the collection of necessary documentation for new accounts and account reactivation. Required Documentation under Money Laundering Legislation: • Photo ID • Current proof of address (utility bill or bank statement) • Proof of PPS number (if available) Our website provides detail on the wide range of services we offer, including Current Accounts, Overdrafts, Loans, Bill Payments, Fexco Bureau de Change, Insurance referrals, and Christmas savings options. We continually strive to introduce new products and services to meet members’ needs. To maintain membership, a minimum of €5 must remain in your Share account. To qualify for Free Death Benefit Insurance, a minimum balance of €250 is required. Membership provides many advantages, including free insurance on savings, loans, and death benefit (terms and conditions apply), funded as an operational expense. Members may also opt for an additional €2,000 death benefit insurance cover (terms and conditions apply). Please note: If your address or employment changes after joining, you may no longer meet the common bond requirement. Under the Credit Union Act 1997 (as amended), this may result in lending restrictions. If you believe this applies to you, please contact us immediately. Our friendly staff are always happy to assist with any queries. Fraud Prevention Protect your account by following the three ‘Be’s’: Be Informed, Be Alert, Be Secure. Further details are available on our website. Supporting Growth Help us grow by encouraging friends and family to join. Credit Unions nationwide are thriving as a competitive, transparent, and community-focused alternative to other financial institutions. We look forward to continuing to serve you, our valued members, throughout 2026 — whether in our branches at McDermott Street Gorey, Rathdrum, Roundwood, Carnew, Ferrybank, Baltinglass, Castledermot, Tinahely, Hacketstown and Dunlavin or through our website and mobile app at www.alturacu.ie.

I formally propose this report on behalf of the Board of Directors.
