On the good news front, the Carriage/ Longwoods intersection traffic lights and the crosswalk for Victoria/Springer are a go. These should be implemented in spring 2025. The Gideon/Oxford roundabout will take longer than anticipated due to challenges with underground infrastructure. Expect completion in late spring 2025. On the budget front, we have completed our budget for 2025. Both Councillor Sue Cates and I were on the Budget Committee. There were significant challenges to overcome, but the final
Free public skating is available throughout the winter, thanks to local sponsors. Recreation programs this winter/spring include Pilates, Yoga and Indoor Youth Soccer at the Delaware Community Centre. We have fraud prevention and technology classes for seniors running in Komoka this winter and they are free. There are also free programs on brain health being offered by the Alzheimer’s Society – Southwest Partners in the Spring. tax rate increase came in at 4.27% for Middlesex Centre. I will comment in more detail on my Councillor Facebook page. Your final property tax bill is 50% from Middlesex Centre, 34% from the County of Middlesex and 16% from the various Boards of Education. Regarding who gets what in total taxes the Federal, Provincial and Municipal hierarchy is at 47% Federal, 44% Provincial and 9% Municipal. If you have a concern about municipal roads, parks or facilities, please let us know by reporting it at middlesexcentre.ca/report- concern. This is in response to the illegal dumping at the end of Miller Road in Delaware, posted on Facebook.
