Wellness Series: All Things Veins and Venous Disease • AGES 15 AND UP

Join us in welcoming Dr. Tejas Shah from Advocate Medical Group as he discusses what venous disease is and how it can impact you. He will discuss the what it means to have visible veins in the legs, feet, arms and face, as well as management of venous disease, deep vein thrombosis, and chronic venous disease. Dr. Shah is a board-certified vascular surgeon and the Program Director of the Advocate Vascular Surgery Fellowship and has been practicing for over 10 years. This class will move your whole body through a complete series of seated and standing yoga poses. This small group class offers more individualized attention to help participants further develop a mind and body connection while improving internal focus, balance, flexibility and strength at each student’s pace. Achieve a calm mind using the therapeutic breath and meditation techniques that yoga provides. End with a guided meditation/relaxation that deeply calms the body, mind and spirit. This beginner-friendly program is geared toward individual needs and uses props. All students are welcome. This program is much more than just a basic class on calming the body and mind. Participants will learn the tools needed for managing a multitude of concerns including stress, anxiety, emotions, family togetherness, and more. As they progress from youth and adolescence, participants will benefit from understanding the importance of mindfulness and coping skills. Jitendra Desai employs the right method for teaching and helping students tap into the proper ways of handling difficult situations that arise. This class is for students already taking Advanced Tai Chi classes and are interested in developing their Tai Chi energy by working with other students and learning an advanced Tai Chi Form. Classes meet on designated Saturdays. The add-on option is for students also registered for two other classes with Master Troy. All others use the stand-alone option.
