Gymnastics • AGES 6-14 Student gymnasts learn skills pertaining to floor, beam, bars and vault. They focus on building strength, body awareness and hand-eye coordination through repetition of weekly drills and the instruction that is essential to fully develop skills. Each level builds on the previous level with instructor approval and certain skill achievement necessary to move up. Your gymnast should expect to be in a level for a year before advancing. Coaches reserve the right to move the gymnast to the appropriate program if they believe placement is incorrect. Gymnasts must be 6 by September 1, 2025 and in first grade to begin this program. Level 1 is for children who are new to tumbling. Form and positions are taught at this level in addition to forward and backward roll, straddle roll, dive roll, lunge to handstand, cartwheel and bridge. Class is commonly repeated before the instructor recommends moving up to Tumbling 2. Tumbling 2 students will learn handstand forward roll, front limber, back walkover and round off. Instructors reserve the right to move students to appropriate levels. Participants must be 6 by September 1, 2025 and in first grade to register for this class.
