Welcome to our families’ 59th Production sale on April 16th starting at 1:00 pm. There will be 88 strong bulls. The cat- tle market has shown considerable strength and resilience because of the strong demand for beef and the continued low cow numbers. We do not see this changing anytime soon and are excited for the future. Great news Secretary Rollins and Secretary Kennedy Just Announced strict meat label requirement for “Product of USA” meat label. The next must be “Born Here – Raised Here – Harvest Here – Processed Here.” A huge win for American Ranchers and the consumers. This will help keep the cattle market stronger for a bright future. We are committed to the approach of raising and developing these bulls based on nature’s bounty and the unique en- vironment provided by this ranch. These bulls are born later in the season with minimum labor input and with only natural protection from the weather. The cows need to calve on their own and get that calf going. Please be aware the birth weights listed in the catalog are the actual weights when we find the calves and because of our rough country and natural protection it may be a day or two after birth. We check the cows twice a day during calving and are finding this low stress environment on the cows is producing a higher calf crop percentage weaned as well as outstanding pregnancy rates. The other key to this equation is to have big, long, athletic herd bulls that can cover country with libido to get the cows bred quickly. This re- quires a sound structure, real muscle, and outstanding feet and legs. We are identifying herd bulls that are true working herd bulls in our rough pastures that encourage the cows to be spread out. The Mogul M65K, Bruns 5 Star, Presidential 1059, Coalition C61J, Antidote, and Pound Maker bulls are examples of aged bulls that live up to the expectations we have for them and the challenges this ranch provides. The bulls in this sale have not been pushed at any point in their lives. We believe this will add to the number of years they will remain in service for you and our program providing the athleticism needed for long term use as breeding bulls for you. All bulls selling will be virgin bulls. The bulls will be semen checked, given pre-breeding shots and tested negative for BVD. Notice in the records, the spread between birth, weaning, yearling weights, and high dollar beef. Remember to appraise an animal for a complete package of natural thickness, structure, maternal, breed back ability, realistic EPDs with real growth and frame and not just fed on. Our cows run in the rough river hills; they must do it all on their own and bring in a big calf in the fall and breed back in good shape.
