Marshall Chesrown had more than one car on display at the Triple Crown of Rodding, but this traditionally styled ’31 Model A roadster grabbed our attention with a blown Ardun-headed Flattie, DuVall windshield and outstanding paint quality.
There were a few Gassers mixed in with the high- end hot rods, and this ’40 Willys features top-notch details and rich drag racing history. Mark & Pamela DeWalt brought it down from Emmaus, PA, an area where the car used to dominate the D/Gas ranks.
Talbert & Summer Goldman rolled into the Triple Crown of Rodding in this eye-catching ’32 Ford Tudor. Vibrant flames pop against the mile-deep black paint, and the hunkered-down stance is complemented by perfectly proportioned Firestone rubber.
What may look like a subdued traditional hot rod is actually a modern combination in disguise. Bruce Ricks owns the ’40 Ford convertible, which features an LS engine, dressed as a Ford Y-block.
The last time this ’55 Chevy was on the road was when Kelly Clark’s mother and father drove away from their wedding reception in 1976. Over the past few years, Kelly turned his father’s project car into a real showstopper. He took home a “Top 30” award.
Known as the “Kong Coupe”, this ’30 Model A coupe is pure hot rod, and that’s exactly what David Coker wanted when he commissioned Big Oak Garage to build it. The chopped coupe rides on Deuce rails and features a 24-stud Flathead with Kong cylinder heads.
