238 The people cried th a t n igh t and found fa u lt w ith Moses and Aaron, and they even blamed God for bringing them there. This made Moses and Aaron feel very sad, and also Caleb and Joshua, the two good spies who spoke to th e people again and told them w hat a wonderful land it was, and told them no t to be afraid for God would be w ith them ; but they would no t listen. The Lord was g reatly displeased because they would not obey Him, and because th ey were so unkind to Moses and Aaron and th e two spies, and worse th a n all else, they found fau lt w ith God and would not be­ lieve H is prom ises afte r all th e won­ d erfu l things He had done for them . So God told Moses th e people could not have th e b eau tifu l land, bu t they would have to go back and live in th e wilder-

When they h eard th is they told Moses they would go, bu t Moses told them it was too late, they had lost th e ir chance. These people were like some boys and girls going to a picnic or p arty and they find fau lt about th e ir clothes and do no t w ant to wear the ones m other wishes them to wear, and they cry and fuss un til mother pu ts th e clothes away and says they cannot go a t all. Do you know any boys or girls like th a t? When people always w an t th e ir own way God has to punish them .
