HAPPENINGS Community Walking Track Ribbon Cutting
Barstow Unified School District hosted a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony on June 24, 2025, for our Community Walking Track. Superintendent Deanna Swearingen welcomed the Track’s architects from Ruhnau Clarke, the construction team from Ledesma Meyer, Barstow Mayor Tim Silva, Mayor Pro Tem Barbara Rose and representatives from the offices of Rep. Jay Obernolte, State Sen. Rosalicie Ochoa Bogh, AM Tom Lackey, the Barstow Chamber of Commerce, along with Miss Barstow Mia Burnau and Teen Miss Barstow Princess Jenna Mitzel. Thank you to the Barstow Police Department for keeping the track a safe space to work out. Thank you to our FM&O crew for ensuring the track is a jewel of the community.
Superintendent Deanna Swearingen and BUSD Trustees Elizabeth Givens and Leonard Williams cut the ribbon to mark the official opening of the BUSD Community Walking Track on June 24, 2025. District leadership was joined by several dignitaries, including Barstow Mayor Tim Silva.
