BURIEN TV CHANNEL 21 TV CHANNEL 21 Burien Senior Program has launched programs on TV! Tune into the Burien Channel 21 for recorded health and wellness presentations for older adults, as well as fitness for falls prevention and maintaining balance. Programs include:

PacMed Living Well Alliance Brain and Heart Health Food, Diet, and Meal Prep Mindfulness, Fatigue and Stress Relief Cooking demos Healthy Lifestyle Choices NUTRITION AND WELLNESS

Senior Fitness: beginner, intermediate/advanced Falls Prevention: beginner, intermediate/advanced Chair Fitness: intermediate SENIOR FITNESS AND FALLS PREVENTION

BASIC TECHNOLOGY

These pre-recorded fitness programs will be broadcasted on Burien Channel 21, therefore viewers will be unmonitored. Please select the most appropriate class and levels for you. Be cautious and keep helpers and/or assistive devices near. Modify or take a break if movements become too challenging to handle. Senior Fitness: low impact exercise for older adults. Exercises can be done with and without weights. Includes warm up, cardio and weight training, balance exercises, stretches and cool down. If you don’t have weights and would like to incorporate them into your routine, you can use household items such as canned food, stretch bands, etc. Falls Prevention Fitness – at home exercises to improve posture and maintain balance. Beginner (chair), intermediate (standing) and advance (floor) levels include everyday movements for muscle- memory that help with balance and preventing falls.
