Board and Superintendent Roles:

The Board is the elected representation for the community and sees that community interests are considered in decision-making for the schools. The board sees that the schools are well run by adopting fair and responsible policies and procedures that direct district operations. The board provides leadership on educational issues to the community. The Superintendent is the chief administrative officer for the district and manages day-to-day operations in the district and sees that board direction is implemented. The superintendent works with the board to facilitate effective governance and provides leadership on educational matters to the community and staff.

Barstow High School EZTECS visit the Board

Students from the Barstow High School EZTECS E-Sports team, Nikko Zamora-Team Captain Buildtecs, Ben Bunnell-Team Captain Varsity EZTECS, Bailey Deppapa-Team Captain Team Jackpot SSBU, Hannah Elizah Hill- Team Captain Minecraft, Allison Moorman-Minecraft Buildtecs, Jacob Lopez-Minecraft Buildtecs, greet the Board of Trustees with high-fives at the October 28,2025 board meeting. The BHS Esports program has flourished in just three years, growing from 13 students to a robust program of 78 students for the 2025/2026 school year, complete with a full-service Esports Lab. The Eztecs are highly successful, competing in six varsity games across California weekly and ranking among the most competitive programs in San Bernardino County. Recent top achievements include: #1 in the High Desert League for all competitions, #1 at the County event for Mario Kart, and 3rd Place at the County event for Super Smash Brothers.
