Now a fourth-genera- tion company and still closely and privately held, the Kru- ger portfolio has grown to employ close to 6,000 across Kruger Packaging is comprised of three full-service cor- rugator plants: one in Brampton, Ontario, which runs an upgraded 98-inch BHS corrugator moved from Kruger’s Rexdale, Ontario, operation in 2006; one in LaSalle, Qué- bec, that runs a 98-inch “hybrid” corrugator with a BHS wet end and an updated Fosber dry end; and one in Elizabeth- town, Kentucky, or “Etown,” the 500,000-square-foot man- ufacturing gem opened a year-and-a-half ago with a new North America. The combined containerboard production of the division totals more than 400 000 MT of containerboard and more than five billion square feet per year of corrugated board with the capacity for more. Paper rolls are sourced from the Kruger-owned mill in Trois-Rivières at the confluence of the powerful Saint Lawrence and Saint-Maurice rivers, which along with Qué- bec’s abundant forests helped make Canada at one time the world’s largest producer of newsprint and for a period in the mid-20th century, the pulp and paper capital of the world.
