Over two thrilling evenings in August, all 10 Houses showcased their talent, passion, and teamwork in an event that had cemented itself as a highlight of the Christ’s College calendar. This year’s festival brought a variety of performances that ranged from hilarious comedies to thought- provoking dramas, reflecting the diverse skills and imaginative flair of our student body. With two esteemed judges from The Court Theatre in attendance, the pressure was on, but each House rose to the challenge with enthusiasm and energy that left the judges thoroughly impressed.

In a night filled with standout moments, it was Julius House that claimed the top honour. Its original play, crafted by the talented Hugo Sudell, wowed the judges with its creativity, compelling storytelling, and polished execution. This win is a testament to the dedication and originality of the students involved, who brought their unique vision to life on stage. The festival was not just about collective achievement – it also celebrated individual excellence. Max Topham delivered a performance to remember, earning him the title of Best Actor. Meanwhile, James Burt’s impressive leadership and artistic direction earned him the

well-deserved title of Best Director, showcasing his ability to bring out the best in his cast and crew. While winners were crowned, the true success of the REACTION House Plays Festival lies in the spirit of collaboration and camaraderie that each House displayed. The teamwork, dedication, and sheer joy of performing were evident in every scene and every line. It is a reminder of the creative energy that thrives within our community and the importance of artistic expression in our school life.
